La-di-da-de-di-da-day

Happy Australia Day and such for those of you so inclined, also belated, as it is now 9:32am on the 27th. And hoorah for those who could actually GO OUT AND CELEBRATE, because I COULDN'T even though there were billions, TRILLIONS of things I could have been doing. But NAY. I'm still sick. Dagnabbit. Oh well, I don't care. At least I'm not hungover today. I feel like shit, but I'm not calling sick for work this morning because I need that 80 bucks come Wednesday, given that I took almost the entirety of last week off. Jussy called me yesterday and when we both realised I could actually form words on the phone instead of unhappy sounds, I nearly started to cry of happiness. I was squealing! But then I realised that I was spending my Australia Day home alone in my pyjamas, while even my father was out celebrating with his friends. Oh, to be young... So basically I sat and did what I have done in the past: listened to the Triple J hottest 100 for 2007. To prove my utter nerdishness, I actually wrote each song down, individually, as they came on. Pssht. Ah well, you may mock, but what else was I supposed to do? I was on a medication schedule! Plus I could barely move. [bad segue alert] Speaking of medication and not moving... oh, I know, I know, THAT'S JUST RUDE EILEEN! Yeaaah, I was going to mention it sometime, it may as well be now. Rest In Peace Heath Ledger. Maaaan, he was so awesome. When I found out he was dead [on the radio like most Australians, extending to his family apparently... except for my brother who read it off one of the security guards' televisions at Parliament House. What the fuck was my brother doing at Parliament House in the first place?! I personally have never even been to Canberra] I was unable to speak [/swallow, not entirely relevant] so I was unable to express my grief to those around me. Plus I was dizzy and barely believed what I had heard. But yes, what I'm trying to get at is let us remember him, and mourn him, because he was a truly great actor and one of the finest Aussies we have seen in a long time. So anyway, just for the sake of it, here was the Top 10 in the Hottest 100. Even if it serves merely as something to get off the topic of death. [Sans SoKo's input of course] 10. The Panics - Don't Fight It 9. SoKo - I'll Kill Her 8. Cold War Kids - Hang Me Up To Dry 7. Daft Punk - Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger [Live] 6. Foo Fighters - The Pretender 5. Faker - This Heart Attack 4. John Butler Trio - Better Than 3. Kings Of Leon - On Call 2. Silverchair - Straight Lines 1. Muse - Knights Of Cydonia Look, I don't know if I agreed. Lets just say my top 10 would have been very different, y'know? But it's not me, it's Australia. And as an Australian who forgot to vote this year [BLAME THE FACT I HAVE A LIFE! nah it was laziness], I can't complain. I think Muse probably came in at no. 1 due to their heavy touring and such. Probably stuck in everyone's minds. I didn't actually go and see them... not a huge Muse fan, although I do have a serious soft spot for the song Hysteria. Now that takes me back. And it was only voted into the top place by 13 votes! 13! I have to go eat or my stupid meds won't work. Baaabyyyy, did you forget to take yoooouuur meds...
