My gerbil died. r.i.p. Thirteen
He died yesterday while i was sick and unable to check up on them. I found him today while trying to give them treats. Poor Twelve had to deal with a dead companion for a whole day. I feel so horrible. Now I'm going to go buy him a new cage and new toys and a new ball so he will be happy and give him all the love i can so he doesn't get sick and die. Gerbils need companionship and without which they get depressed and get sick.

Wow, that is (or was) like the cutest thing ever! We don't have those here.. They look half way between a guinea pig and a mouse. Squirrel maybe?? My birdie died last year. It was very sad. Haven't been able to bring myself to buy a new one yet. Don't worry Erin! You'll be fine! Hope you get better :)

Perhaps when the sadness passes, you can find another companion for Twelve. I'm sure Twelve would appreciate the gesture.
