So it was Nadine's 18th tonight, and I went, aaaand, well, I was bored towards the end but I have to say it was fun. Mostly. She was pissed even before we got there, but by the time we left she was so convinced that we were having a bad time that she started shouting at me in the middle of the street to tell her the truth. Her friend from uni was behind me mouthing "Just tell her you had a good time!" but, as usual, as is my torturous relationship with Nadine, I stood there and stared at her blankly.
I don't know why I don't like parties. I'm more of a homebody really. Maybe that will change when I turn 18. I don't know. Hopefully by uni I'll be into all of that, so I can go out with uni friends and do normal uni things. Instead, tonight, while everyone was in the other room dancing/making out with randoms, I was sitting with Nicole talking about how I would design my house in the future, how my bathroom is going to be hot pink (and the bathroom will NOT have a see-through door - what is with that?!) and how Nicole will have a blackboard wall where everyone who comes will sign it with chalk (or, as I suggested, the liquid chalk markers that facsinate me so). Clearly party conversation. At that moment Melissa wandered past and slapped me on the shoulder, slurring "I tollllld you I wouldn't.... drink!" followed by Esther who was getting beaten up by some little kid. Drunk Esther and annoying little kid don't mix well together, as the kid ended up on the floor crying and Esther running away to hide. That part was actually really funny.
I figured out where I knew one of the guys from: it was Shaun, the guy that Chryssa made out with at Nichelle's? Yeah, him. It was kinda funny, because at the same time we made this revelation, Melissa came running up to me to tell me that they were trying to set him up with her. Kind of ironic, yet kind of not.
I kept one of the balloons. Deana sucked in about 10 of them for the helium. We think she'll need medical attention in the not too distant future.
THERE WAS A STRIPPER. This really made my night. The look on Nadine's face the entire time was priceless. Kira caught some of it on video, completely hilarious. Deana, Amy and I were so hyped up beforehand it was unbelieveable. Brilliance, utter brilliance. It even took my mind away from art for a moment there. And that was hard to do, considering Melanie was talking about it for much of the night.
Barbara gatecrashed. Nobody noticed except for our little group.
I think I'm more suited to the arty kind of party, with the small dark corner that I can sit in sipping my chai tea with my sunglasses on, sketching everything I see. In a big black jacket.
No, but I did have fun, I swear. I'm just a little drained, and I'm glad as hell that it's over.
Happy Birthday Nadine x
