Listening to: Tomorrow - silverchair
Feeling: excellent
"You look pretty today!"
"Yeah Eileen. Pretty."
Which was how I was greeted upon arriving at work today. Tasia was the first, Ramez the latter. Ramez didn't even look up. He's an idiot. But then later on he kept asking me accusingly "Why did you get all dressed up today Eileen?!" Pssht. 'Sif I did. I just wasn't wearing a t-shirt for once and had my hair straightened.
Simon and Avril were in the back, Simon had been there for ages because Tanya hadn't rocked up for the training. While in the back, I could see Sophie walking past the store outside. Avril and I both poked our heads out to wave.
Me: HAHAHAHA I thought that was her baby for a second there and I was like what the hell...
Avril: hahahaha!
Me: Yeah, well she is married. *we both go back into storeroom*
Simon: Was that her kid?!
Me and Avril: Nooo.
Simon: Christ, I was gonna say...
I was folding napkins when Tasia motioned to me. "Is that the girl from Australian Idol?!" "Um... I have no idea Tas." "You know! The one from the Young Divas!" "Ha. I still don't know, I guess it could be..."
She shared her thoughts with Jussy who wasn't sure either, but sure enough, when Tas went out for her autograph it was Emily from Aus Idol/Young Divas. They were going crazy in the back room and I walked in there to see if there were any sausage rolls left, when I was shunned by Ramez. "Morning people only!" I fought against them, before asking if Tasia would go and get me an autograph. "Why?! You don't even like her!" "So what! She's famous[ish]! I want in."
But Tasia wouldn't do it. Jussy wouldn't do it. Ramez wouldn't, and Tas even preferred to serve Daniel [creepy] rather than go back out there. I even begged Daniel to do it for me! But he just laughed in my face [yeahh. That's right. Laugh in my face then come back later on expecting us to gush over your haircut. Those Mister Minit guys have wayy too much coffee.] Eventually I went out and asked her myself, and the entire store [Okay. Tas, Daniel, Daniel's friend, Rob, Avril and Jussy anyway, no doubt other customers too because I was making such a big deal about it hahahaha] was watching me, which was quite embarrassing to come back to. BUT. The discovery I made was that her mother owns Hairhouse Warehouse in QV! I was like "NO FUCKING WAY!! THAT'S THE BEST THING EVER! I LOVE HAIRHOUSE WAREHOUSE!" and I found myself jumping up and down like a groupie and she was so happy, she told me to come in and get my hair done [which I already do for conveniences sake] by any of her girls and come say hi. I was so excited, and I think Emily was a little bit like, what the hell? when I got so excited over her mother and not her. But that was funny. When I went back in, everyone was like "Well?" I was like "SHE OWNS HAIRHOUSE WAREHOUSE!!" hahahaha
Daniel's friend stepped forward and brought out his pen. "Here, you'll be needing my autograph too." "Hah. Yeahhhh, I'll just get you a different piece of paper..." Oh, what a riot. Ha. What was funny was when Jussy cae up to me and waited until I wasn't serving to notify me that we were working together tomorrow morning. I was like, thanks. Haha.
Later on, Tess had come in and was sitting in the corner drinking whatever it was she bought. I was about to go up to her with the photo I printed off before work, when she called out "Eileen! Eileen!! Read this!!" She pushed forward her copy of mX, open to the Here's lookiing at you column [for those not in Melbourne or who just don't read mX, it's where people text in to mX and tell randoms on the street they love them. Like personals, really. I love reading them, they're mostly lame... anyway]. "It's the bottom one." It read:
GLORIOUS: To the blonde beauty at Gloria Jean's, QV. Seeing you get coffee in the morning is the best start to a day. If only I was single. -V, CBD
BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I cried with laughter. Especially when Rob was like "I read that column every day and nobody ever sends one in about me!" Avril, Rob and I then spent the rest of the time complaining about it. But it was hilarious, I sprinted out to the street during my break just to get 4 copies, braving the rain. Oh man. Someone put it up on our mirror [which has accumulated a heap of crap now, Simon's 21st invitation... barista art... Christmas party notices... yep]. We showed Adel after the shift was over, and he took it as a form of advertising. [Because of the mention of GJ's QV.] He decided to send it in to Head Office because he thinks that everyone in Sydney needs to see it, for some Godforsaken reason. Hahaha. It was pretty funny. We tried to figure out who the hell V was, probably some middle aged arse like the type that usually lusts after Tas.
Tess was still hanging around when I had my break [she was there for about 4 hours] so I had Bubble Cup [peach! 'Twas grand] and we got Hot Rods from KFC. The manager served me, and I had just had a conversation with him about how Tas had gone home so he couldn't get his "special drink" so I apologied. He laughed, and we got our 6 HotRods for only $2.95! [Normally $8.45.] Oh, the perks.
So it was a pretty fun day to be working. Shyep. Now I have to sleep because, surprise surprise, I have to be up in 6 hours to catch the 6am train. Oh, the humanity!
