Chapter 6 - What? She told me that she really needed to talk to someone and she couldn’t get a hold of anyone else. So she asked me to come over. Actually, she told me to. Asking isn’t really Haley’s style. When she wants you to be somewhere, you’re there. Anyway, she sounded pretty upset, so I went over there. Haley was a wreck. I could tell that whatever had happened with Nathan had really gotten to her. “Haley? What happened?” “Nathan…” She stopped, I could tell that she was having a really hard time saying it. “It’s ok Hale, now just tell me, what happened with Nathan?” I said, trying to comfort her. “I...we...I just...” “What happened?” “He just... and after we...” “What, Haley?” “...I slept with him.” “What?” “What” pretty much summed it up. Then, when it was over, we were just sitting there talking and all of a sudden he stands up and says “We’re through” And walks out. He didn’t say why or anything, he just left. Then I kept calling around trying to find someone to talk to, and finally you answered. And now, I have no idea what to do.” “Damn Haley... Somehow, I couldn’t bring myself to say the normal things you would say to someone that’s just been dumped, you know, things like “He’s and asshole anyway” or “Fuck him, he doesn’t deserve you” or “Hey, now you can got out with [insert name here].” Somehow, I just couldn’t say those types of things about Nathan. ...Maybe Haley isn’t the only one in love with him.
