Chapter 20 - Things Aren't Always What They Seem
I drove to the club that Nathan had taken me to, since I knew they wouldn't pay too much attention to me.
I walked in and sat down at the bar.
"What'll it be?" the bartender asked.
"Give me the strongest thing you have."
"Bad day, huh?" the guy next to me asked.
I looked over at him. He looked like he was about 20, and kinda cute.
"You have no idea." I answered, taking a sip of my drink.
"Well, whatever it is, I bet I could top it."
"I'd like to see you try."
"Ok. My best friend is completely in love with this girl, and she dumped him today because of me."
"Why? What'd you do?"
"Let's just say I told her what he does when she's not around. Oh, and on top of that, my girlfriend dumped me today after we've been going out for almost a year because she's in love with her best friend."
"Ok, so your day sucked, I'll give you that much. But mine was 100 times worse, trust me."
"Did I mention that her best friend is a girl?"
"Well… that does change things a bit then. But I can still top it."
"Really? What happened?"
"Well, my friend is totally in love with this guy, but he dumped her a few months ago… For me. The thing is, she didn't know that. So yesterday, when she came to tell him that she was pregnant with his kid, she found him with me."
"Ooh, ouch."
"Yeah, and it gets worse. She was speeding out of the driveway when she left and got hit by an oncoming truck." I finished the remainder of my drink, and turned to the bartender. "Give me another."
The guy looked at me. "Let me get that one for you… I think you need it more then I do."
I finished that drink too. "No kidding."
About an hour and 4 drinks later, I was finally starting to relax. Steve, the guy I'd been talking to, was really cool, and we were having a great time.
Except I think I may have had just a little too much to drink.
"Hey Steve!" I yelled to him over the noise.
"Yeah?" he yelled back.
"You're awesome, you know that?"
He laughed. "Yeah, I know!"
"No really, I don't think you understand just how awesome you really are. You're awesome. Do you understand what I'm trying to say?"
"That I'm awesome?"
"Exactly! Oh, and thanks for the drinks!"
"No problem. Hey Lily!"
"Yeah?"
"You're awesome too!" He pulled me over to him and kissed me.
I pulled away. "Dude, what the hell are you doing?!"
"What? I'm just having some fun!"
"I told you before, I have a boyfriend. Sorry, but I'm not interested."
"I never asked if you were interested." He growled.
He started dragging me away from the crowd. I tried to fight him, but for some reason, I couldn't move.
"What the hell did you do to me?!" I cried. By then, I was scared. I started screaming. "Help! Somebody!"
Steve hit me. "Shut the fuck up!" He hissed.
I tried to struggle, but whatever he'd slipped me was really starting to get to me. I caught a glimpse of the small room he had dragged me into.
And then everything went black.
Thats what happen when you are in a bar and gets drunk!
