Trippy.

My parents very sudden and spontaneous idea to take us to the beach for a few days turned out pretty nice. We got amazing weather. Sunny with a little bit of clouds, exactly how i like the sky to be. The ocean water was the perfect temperature. No sharks attacked us, just crabs who liked my right foot hehe. And the waves were just asking to be boogie-boarded on. Everything was cooperating-- including my skin (which didn't get burned) and my camera (which worked its lense off). Also, it was just nice to have all seven busy people in my family together again. Even nicer, we all get along real well. We even drank together. We mixed the circle-of-death drinking game with my Dad's idea for a Harry Potter trivia game. It was insanity but with my family-- you can't expect anything less. --- Going places is beyond awesome. But so is home. After only three days, I missed my own bed. I missed the dogs. I missed riding on familiar roads. I missed a million little insignificant things. But mostly, I just missed my friends and my boyfriend lots. After only three days. I always said that when I'm older I just want to travel and never settle down. But that's a lie. I want to travel for sure. But I also want to always have a home to come to. Without a home, I don't think I'd ever feel secure or completely content. --- Speaking of the future, I had an interesting conversation today while I was getting my physical Doctor Christopher: So what do you want to do after high school. Me: I'm thinking about going to RMU for film/photography. Doctor: *Laughs* Well not to discourage you or anything, but I know someone's daughter who went there and now she works at Starbucks. She was a smart girl too. Me: Oh, yeah. I know it's not a safe thing to go into but it's what I love. Doctor: And if only we could all do what we love... Me: Yeah.. Damnit. I'm apprehensive again. Maybe I'll just go to be a doctor or a teacher or something. Maybe then everybody will support me.

awh, whatever it is, DON'T ever give up on your dreams, that's what id say. i told my guitar teacher id want to do a degree in fine arts (if i get in), and he said "i knew someone who did that, etc etc and she couldnt get a job or whatever", but i dont think that would stop me. i dont care if i turn out peniless if i am doing what i love. good luck with photography, it's art, it will find a place no matter what. That's why art is awesome
