I have never been any good at sports. I'm not even an athlete.... yet I play on 3 of the most physically and mentally demanding sports at school: first year football, fourth year wrestling and third year rugby.
Last tuesday, I was selected to go to the GMAA All-Stars Meet to fight for the All-Star title for my weight class. First of all, since another teammate in the same class was selected to go too, we had to fight before to find out who would represent SHS. I won through a quite uneventful overtime match, partly because BW (my teammate) kept on doing the same move over and over again which only succeeded once out of 4 times (I reversed it the other 3 times). So after that, I went to the All-Stars meet and fought some new guy. My coach told me to practice my technique on him, which what I would've done if I found out that he was a newbie. So I thought, "Yeah, this is gonna be fine. I'll beat him with a 10-0 pin." Wrong. I went out, couldn't pull a single move, and almost got pinned from a very basic move. I found out then that if I start going all out aggressive, I forget to look at what he's trying to do. I ended up screwing up a few more times and my coach just told me to pin him, which I did. Yay, All-Star two years in a row.... but this year's title shouldn't be given to such a poorly fought match >.>.
Same week, Friday, I went to Loyola Wrestling Tournament. Fought against another newbie. This time, nothing went wrong and I got to practice my technique perfectly ^____^. Won the tournament by beating one guy, got a medal, nothing special....
Yesterday was absolutely depressing. Riverdale International Open Tournament.... a tourney were people from all over Canada can come. My age group ran from 16-19.... me being the 16 year-old at the bottom. Fought 3 times, lost 3 times. Though I should've won two of them. But what comforts me, is that I'm not alone. Of the 6 SHS guys that went, 5 of them lost all their matches.... which is kinda pathetic.
I'll stop boring you with my "athletic" stories... and go do my @*&$(!@*($& Chinese homework.... *sigh*
