Music history was okay today. There was the ever-hilarious joke about how I always bring a bottle each of juice and water as well as a cup of coffee and line them up on the desk in order of height, playing off the Cingular commercial: "Music history: more bars in more places!" as well as "Mankato" (because of the drinking problem), "Minnesota" (bars as in lemon bars or Rice Crispie bars), and "prisons" (self-explanatory). Work was boring, but at least the weather was nice so afterwards I changed into shorts and a tank top. I hope it's nice on Friday too because I took Tyler's shift for him, so I'll be working a total of six hours instead of the usual four, and he has a super-boring zone on Fridays.
Practiced a little bit. I think that getting this WAMSO competition into my head is a good thing, because even if I don't end up doing it, it gives me a goal to strive towards when practicing and focuses my energy. I really am out of shape from not practicing as much this semester; my thumb callouses are basically two blisters, and my fingertips are shedding again, which they haven't done for years. My biceps were a little sore after the Shostakovich, but it's a hard piece so that's to be expected even if I was in shape. I want to be cello-buff again. :)
I hung out at Josh & Cassandra's apartment tonight; we ate pizza and played Apples to Apples, Set, and worked up a Dungeons & Dragons character for me when I start playing with their campaign this summer. It's a gnomish bard named Biloxi (Billi for short). I'm a little excited, but a little nervous too, because I'm not sure what my course load is going to be like this summer. If it's anything like Interim at St. Olaf, I'm going to be swamped.
I haven't had much homework this week, hence why I've been writing so much. I have a paper due in American Indians next Thursday that I should start this weekend though. Thank goodness the music history one is over with; it's such a relief not to have that hanging over my head anymore. Otherwise, my semester is winding down. I need to go to the observatory three more times in order to get the full extra credit for astronomy that I so desperately need. And if I get a B or higher in Victims, I will seriously have a personal party, since Wilkins announced on the first day that it was virtually impossible to get above a C in her class. We'll see how I do on the final.
Keep Cheerful :-)
