Today was unproductive, mostly fun, and somewhat dramatic.
I had class as usual. We started practicing CPR on the Annies in health today. Our practical is next Wednesday. I'm a little nervous and excited. I'm still a little in awe that I'm learning these simple skills that could save a life someday. Diversity is always interesting, especially when Wilkins gets sidetracked onto something. It's almost always relevant, but not necessarily a planned tangent. A few days ago she was discussing regional dialects in the U.S. and how us Minnesotans say, "Ore-GONE." She told us, "No! It ain't gone anywhere! It's Oregon!"
After class I sat on a bench outside the PA to write my speech on dairy farming, but I ended up writing a statement on country music in the style of the "This I Believe" statements from NPR. Fun, but not productive. I found Katie J. and we talked for awhile as we both got sunburned. Kimberly call at 16:00 and the three of us went on a fun-filled field trip to Target, Wal-Mart, and ended up at Old Country Buffet for supper.
We ate, talked, and told stories until almost 21:00! It was such a fun time. And I thought summer school would be boring . . . yeah right!
Right about 21:00 the phone calls started. Amy called like five times in a row, but I didn't answer. Then Juwon called once. My parents were calling as well to ask what the deal was about tomorrow, so I answered those.
Kimberly and I spent twenty minutes walking up and down the four flights of stairs in H-hall while I brought her up to speed on my drama with Amy and Juwon, the status of my dad's health, and other stuff. It was a good workout, and a good conversation.
I did some work on my speech, packed, took a shower, and went to bed, hoping to scrounge up what little sleep I could. Then Brian called at 0:30! I thought about not answering, but I'm glad I did. He updated me on the status of my own drama: Amy and Juwon are now dating. No wonder they kept calling me. I'm not sure why I didn't want to talk to them, because this is good news for me, but whatever. My drama has now been consolidated, and it has ceased to be my problem any more.
