war, politics, and RollingStone

ok so im an average 15 year old girl. i dont really deal with politics and whats going on in the world very often. yeah i watch the news and i see whats going on around me but with war and everything, ive only seen part of it. ive seen enough to know my opinions and that is that i think the war is not needed but bush is. besides im not old enough to vote but if i was i DEFINATLY wouldnt vote for kerry. im catholic and i took as a PeRsOnAl insult when he called himself a catholic right before he said he was down with abortion. that is so wrong and i dont want a man that mis-represented as him leading our country. plus i think bush is doing his best and hes dealt with everything nicely.

i also knew about the soldiers that were being captured and injured. american soldiers i mean. i also had heard small rumors about our soldiers doing uruly things to iraqi soldiers. i didnt know the full extent until i read a 3 page spread about it in RollingStone. yeah i know it might not be the best source but i think ive read enough to know that those soldiers serously suck. these people in these 2 prisons they were talking about were being raped, humiliated, stomped on, they deprived of food, water, and sleep. the horrible thing is nobody in those prisons were actually terrorists or followers of sadam hussein, they were just in there for regular crimes, but the american soldiers took over and completly rocked their world. i read all these things about how they were laughing and taking pictures...thats just wrong. these men were raised to be completly embarrased being naked in front of other men, and then they were made to stand on a wall and masterbate while american soldiers laughed, pointed, and took pictures. thats not even justice. after it was all over all they can say is someone told them too. this is when you go back to that old saying "if someone told you to jump off a bridge would you do it?" even if someone tells you too there is a difference between wrong and right. what they did was completly wrong.

most people that read this might say "oh shes only 15 she doesnt know wht shes talking about" and may b i dont but ever since i was born my parents taught me to follow my concience and recognize right from wrong. thats all im doing here. i definatly do think the terrorists and anyone against our country should be punished...but taking them from their families and putting them in those shit holes we call prisons over there is enough until they decide to kill them or not. do i think they should be killed? definatly...does this contradict what i was just saying? no because those people had nothing to do with americas terrorist problem. the terrorist on the other hand are completly different.

9-11 touched real close to home for me. i live about 20 min from where the pentagon is. in other words i pretty much live in DC or the metropolitan area...which ever you prefer. my mother worked in the exact place where the plane hit the pentagon for 8 years until she was moved. that means she would be dead right now. she was however moved right near the pentagon and when they had to be evacuated from their building she said she could see it, and she said she will NEVER forget that smell. can you imagine how hard that was for her? then im sitting in my history classroom when they said we all need to go to our theopolis room((auditorium w/e)). we were one of the many schools in our area that had to sit in a room and hear their principles talk about what just happen. i remember seeing boys i though were strong break down and cry because their parents worked there, and i remember crying freaking out about my mother. when i saw her that was the best feeling ever and we all came home and sat and watched the news. when i saw it i couldnt help cry and i was only 13. my brother wanted to feel bad but being 9 had no idea what to feel bad about. we had a memorial service and just prayed about all the families that lost. i also hit close because my dad who was in the army, he got put in remission where at any point if they needed him for war they will tell him and he had to be ready to leave within 48 hours. if i lost my dad to war i wouldnt know how to act.

the people who did that to our country, and to my state, and to ME...they need to be killed. when they find osama bin laden--FUCK a trial like they are giving sadam hussein they should kill him on the spot and any one of his followers. now years later our country still lives in the fear of getting on planes, and going to the mall. we shouldnt have to feel this way. i hope the election this year goes well and bush get realected...may b people will vote for him out of pity or whatever but i dont think we should take bush out of the war hes been dealing with. i also think that other than the soldiers i talked about above we should thank every single soldier for putting their life on the line

those are just the opinions of a 15 year old...but i know how i feel and i know that i only bought the rock against bush album for the music...NOT because im against bush-and i cant even vote for another 3 years.
