Today, I went to an Engagement Party...It was interesting. My gosh, I don't mean to offend anyone but traditional Arab weddings are so complicated. First they sign the marriage contract, and then they have dinner and parties, and more parties. I might be wrong, but a lot of Middle Eastern people do these big and complicated weddings. This family was taking pictures of them cutting the cake, drinking some kind of cider(because they can't drink wine), kissing(which the bride was uncomfortable with...you know in public). Family put necklaces that had Money attached to it around her neck. I guess it was...the dowry(gifts that the brides recieve from the grooms family). Anyway, Mid Easterns have like 5 pre-wedding parties before they consider themselves fully married.lol
My uncle said that he asked one of his friends if he was married yet...The guy replied "80 percent."
What the hell does 80 percent mean?lmao
If ever I were to marry a Middle Eastern guy...Hell No, we would not have all of those parties and get togethers. I'd be tired. I mean...the bride didn't even seem happy. Her smile seemed somewhat fake. Her husband is a different story. She is gorgeous...I mean very pretty. She's half white/half egyptian, but she's American. I don't know..but I think he's a little to old for her. There is nothing wrong marrying someone a bit old...but In my oppinion, she deserved someone else. She has a since of humor, talkative, fun, and pretty(no homo). But, he may be the same way...I don't know him. I can't wait to see what happens at the Wedding in October. I thought they took care of everything at the party.
