XCIX: the poorest man is not without a cent, but without a dream...

this is just a quick thought, but i always wondered about quotes by unknown authors. i always wondered how they came to be. not the sayings themselves but the perseverance that made them so unforgettable, yet still make their maker, the obscure author, fall on the wayside. just the same, what really intrigues me is the possibility that perhaps the author threw himself on the wayside, so that the truthfulness of the wisdom shared in the quote wouldn't be stained by association to an unreasonable scoundrel, such as himself—that's deeply considerate. just imagine him to live in the shadows as well as the muted silence of a thinker and, for the greater good of mankind, pain his ego, but save the words' suffering. however, one did say: "pain is inevitable; suffering is optional." he made his choice not to be known, but i don't have such courage. i will take both the pain and suffering, and forever claim my words.
