Listening to: The Simpsons on TV
so this entry begins with working and how much i dislike it. nine hours of scanning two hundred racks of clothes and changing signs and making signs and dealing with 55-plus-year-olds who want their senior discounts on merchandise that isn't eligible. it almost seems like they're drawn to those few racks and tables that don't apply, just so they have a reason to get even grumpier than they originally were. honestly, i can only take hearing "EH?" in between everything i say to them a few more times before i may shoot myself.
one bright point in the day was my lunch break. now that i've moved to my new apartment, i'm a convenient 3-minute drive away from work. i guess you could see that as either pro or con, but for quick drives home for free home food, it's great. plus, with our recent purchase of a george foreman grill, kevin had a burger and french fries ready for me. unfortunately, with our store's new merge with another large, midwestern, retail company, my lunch "hour" is now only 45 minutes. that is, if i work 7 hours straight. thing is, i usually work 10 or 11 hour days, still with just the 45 minutes.
i know, i know. many people work longer days and longer hours than i do, but it's still hard. i like to eat. for real.
so now i'm home. i watched my america's next top model and now i'm on to gossip girl. the drama!
i haven't quite decided yet what i'd like for dinner. i think i have some shrimp, but that may be back in the old apartment's freezer.
(so i'm not completely moved in yet...what of it?)
i could also just order out, but i've been having a lot of fun not spending money. other than buying gas when i got out of work today and the two dollars i gave to the holiday party fund raiser at work around noonish, i haven't spent any money for an entire week.
yes, a week!
i've also just spent the last hour or so registering all my gamecube, wii, and gameboy advance games, along with the systems themselves, in order to get my free subscription to nintendopower magazine. i need my mario fix.
yes, i'm a big-time nerd.
hardxcorez.
i make up for it by getting the girliest games ever. e.g. elebits (where you capture little, bug-like, cute things) animal-crossing (you make money by picking apples or other fruit and selling them OR doing little errands for your bunny and penguin neighbors) and mario party (no description needed, i don't think. the name says it pretty well).
nerding out = done.
it's now nine o'clock and i'm getting restless and hungry. kevin is chillin to the max and relaxing all cool and a shootin' b-ball outside of the school with his friend kyle. a recent text proclaimed that he picked up the dish scrubber and christmas popcorn tin from our old landlord at the old apartment and that he'd be home around 11:30ish. after a text reply from me, i receive none back answering me about whether or not he remembered to pick up the cat litter scooper.
and now my entry ends with me getting off my butt and getting something to eat and do some dishes. true, i have no idea what i'm going to go eat, but i can assure all of you that it's going to be amazingly delicious. like...probably a few of those ritz bitz s'mores and spaghetti-o's.
amazingly delicious.
goodnight
I get no break when I work 8hrs because I work night shift and there is no one to relieve me.
If I worked other shifts, I would only get 30 mins anyway.
