My day went really well today. I got a lot done at work. We took down all the Christmas decor and replaced it with some Valentine-like merchandise. I also had to finish writing/graphing out the schedules in advance for the days that I'll be gone. But oh, how it was slow today. No traffic. No shoppers. Horrible. The day dragged on. Similar to this entry. After work I went to Deena and Corby's house to eat birthday cake (Happy Birthday Deena (today) and Corby (tomorrow)!) drink pomegranate martinis and play Apples to Apples. Never having played with that group before, it took me a while to realize how everyone chose their cards. But I cracked their code! Deena: Always chooses the card the makes the most sense. Hands down. All the time. e.g. For the card "cold", she'll pick "snow." Corby: Always chooses the most outrageous card. e.g. For the card "Explosive", "Festering Wounds" was chosen. Maryellen: She was the trickiest. The trickster, even. She chooses the ones that not only make the most sense, but don't personally offend her in some way. e.g. The card placed down was "tough." When she saw that "Darth Vader" was put down, she simply said, "Darth Vader?? I hate him!!" Selena: Also tricky, but not enough so to be deemed a trickster. She'll pick goofy ones, but not outlandish ones. She thinks that Elvis Presley is shinier than body piercings. Me: Well, I just pick the ones that make me laugh the most. Or are insanely offensive. For "loud?" Yeah, totally would've picked "challenger explosion." Thanks, Corby. Speaking of dragging on... I've yet to even start packing for my trip. I did buy cute new clothes for it, though! Wouldn't want all my friends thinking I wear old clothing. Yaaaaaay shallow. After Apples to Apples, we watched little elf videos where you put your head on a elf card.. thing.. it's funny. Then we talked about what I'm bringing back from Wisconsin. Maryellen wants "Wisconsin porn" and Corby wants a cheese head foam cheese hat. I'll post a picture when I get it to him.
