the bandies rocked it

I'm officially done with classes for my sophomore year now. Kinda hard to believe. I've been waiting for this for so long. Now I just have to make it through finals! I turned in my American Indians paper this morning, practiced, went to Pop Music and astronomy, then took a test in Victims. Yikes! Actually, it didn't go all that badly. I tried to apply for a music scholarship, but I couldn't get ahold of Dr. Rodgers and it's due tomorrow at noon, so that probably won't happen. Maybe next year. I went to the Wind Ensemble/Symphonic Band concert tonight. I'm not a huge band fan; give me orchestra or even choir any day. But tonight was pretty awesome. My favorite was Tempered Steel. I think OHS Concert Band played it a few years ago at Big 9 when I was still in high school. They also had this piece where one of the dance profs danced over the band on the balcony, which was kind of different, but cool. I find it easier to watch ensembles of any type when you've got friends to watch in them. I liked rooting for them tonight. I'm going to miss the music building and the people in it over the summer. I like going to practice and wondering who I'll find hanging around the music building. I know some of them don't get along, but they all seem to get along with me. That seems to be one of my good traits. I wanted to go to the observatory again tonight with Wes and Tyler, but it's cloudy and starting to rain, so the observatory is closed. It's the last day, too. Oh well. I guess I'll have to settle for the extra credit I've got, and buckle down and study for the astronomy final. I have so much to do this next week. I'm a little stressed right now, but that should go away once I get a chance to write it all down and plan out my life a little better. But now I'm getting sick again, so we'll see. The dance tomorrow should be fun.

It is so much easier to enjoy performances like that when you know people in them. My sister's in Orchestra, so I like going to hers at her school... but my parents love to drag us to the Kennedy Center for the symphony there and it is the biggest bore you will ever experience.
