So. My date with Landon. Okay, we actually went on a date (ish) before Friday night. Wednesday we went swing dancing, and KJ was there (she was the ice breaker, thank goodness she was there). Anyways, so that was way fun. Friday, though, the real fun began. He picked me up at about noon and we went to lunch at Center Street Grill and then went up to the car show, where we proceeded to waste most of the afternoon (I wouldn't exactly call it waste, because we got to know each other better and it really was way fun). Later that afternoon, we went out to his place because he needed to check on his dogs (his family has three pugs, and are dog-sitting his aunt's pug). While at his house we ran into his dad, and then a little while later we left, went back to the car show for a bit, then went over to Willow Park Zoo and wandered there for a bit before going to dinner. For dinner we ate at Iggie's, which I had never been to before, and which was really awesomely good. After dinner, we drove to Callaways to get a lava cake, and on the way to the Styx concert dropped it off at the his and his dad's office so it wouldn't melt before we could eat it. The Styx concert was interesting, because it was the first concert I had ever been to. Honestly though, what band in their right mind comes to Logan, UT to play a show? Anyways, it was awesome and fun and all that. Afterwards we went back to the office to grab the lava cake and went to his house to make it. After we made/ate the lava cake his little brother pulled out a can of gun powder and a couple of plastic pop bottles to make "bombs" (they aren't really bombs, they just make a really loud boom. They don't do any damage). We all went out to the driveway to watch him light them up, and Landon kept trying to push me behind him, like he was trying to protect me from something. His family all went back inside (his family being his dad and younger brother because his mom is out of town, I think she's a flight attendant) and we sat out on the tailgate of his truck and talked and eventually went back inside. We hung out down in his room (door wide open, his dad came down and made fun of us a little bit...) for a while and about 12:30 (AM) he drove me home. Yeah so it was literally a 12-hour date but it was so much fun, I felt totally at ease with him in a way I don't know if I've ever felt like that on a date before. He's as dorky as I am, which I personally think is a way good thing. Guess now all I have to do is wait and see where and how things go.
