Yesterday at around 4 pm, we left for a little-over-two-hour drive down to Maruia-or-wsomething-like-that Hot Springs. Pleasure? Relaxation? Ohhhhhhhh yeah.
So we got through the boring, really long drive, and Dad went in to check us into the hotel. Room 10 to be exact. But it wasn't really a hotel, more like a main lobby, with apartments seperated from it. We were in 'Cabin 10' I suppose.
We got to our room/cabin, and we went up for dinner. I had chicken nuggets and 'chips'. But they weren't 'chips,' they were french fries. They only used the term 'chips' on the kids menu, I noticed. Dinner was very good.
And a + side, we got to watch the SIMPSONS! We didn't have a tv in our room/cabin, but they had the channel onto channel 3 already, and we were there at 7, so, ya know.
It was the episode where Ned and Homer got married in Las Vegas, and then were kicked out because they tried to run away from their 'wives'. Funny stuff.
So anyway, we then went back to our room and we changed into our swimming suits, and we went to the Rock Pools. There were three hot pools, and one cold one. We went into the first hot pool, and it was warm.
Then we crawled into the second hot pool, and it was wamer.
Then daddy bear said, "Who's been sleeping in my bed?"
And then Dad and Teresa got into the third pool, which was slightly hotter. Mom and I stayed in the middle one for a bit longer, then I got out and asked Dad for the key. Teresa came with me.
Teresa took a shower, then let me take one, and then we waited for Mom and Dad to come back. It was about bed time, so we went to bed
This morning when we woke up, we went to the Japanese Baths. Clothes are NOT to be worn, in keeping with Japanese tradition. Thank you. It was....not great since I had to go with my sister and mom, but....it was soothing, I suppose.
Then we got out and met at the car, and we made our way a little farther, where we stopped at the rest stop and took a very short hike.
But there were these little pools to the side of the river that were warm, and Dad and I thought about getting our swimsuits and just bathing. But we had to keep going.
So we went along and came to a hiking trail, and we took it. We went up real high, and we were gonna try and make it to the foot bridge, but we couldn't find it so we went back.
Finally we went to the beach, and walked along the beach, skipping stones when the surf got flat. Then we ate, but lunch wasn't full of choices, and those choices weren't great.
So finally we got home and it was nice....but cold. Nice, eh? It was. Yah.
Ok, I'm done. I'll stop now.
