Aries woke up around 3:30 that morning. The loud thunder still echoed outside. She raised her head and saw her brother sleeping like a baby wiht his arms tightly grasped around her. She softly arose and climbed from her brothers arms. She hopped quietly off the bed and out of the room. Quietly she tiptoed to the bathroom and turned on the light. Aries looked at herself in the mirror and brushed the black hair out of her eyes. She cried, the tears fell out of her eyes and off her cheeks like running water.
Jesse had sensitive hearing. Especially when it came to hearing Aries. When they first started sharing a room, everytime Aries would stir in her sleep, Jesse would wake. He heard her crying. He sat up realizing she was gone. He jumped off the bed and bolted to the washroom only to come to a locked door and the sound of Aries crying on the other side.
"Aries. Aries can you hear me? Are you okay?" asked Jesse breathing so heavily he felt his lungs were ready to explode. From sinside the bathroom Aries jumped at the sound of her brothers' voice.
All Jesse heard was a drawer close and the sound of running water. The light went off and the door opened only to reveal Aries's small figure in the darkened doorway. She flew past her brother and back under her sheets.
Jesse didn't know what to do, his feet ran after her and back onto her bed. He lay down beside his broken sister and watched her carefully all night. They both knew that the other didn't sleep.
At six, Jesse got up and took a shower. Aries just sat up in her bed holding her head from the massive headache that had grown over the night. She reached under her pillow and took out her asprin and dumped about four capsules into her hand and threw them back. The normal amount of medicine and stopped working since she took them every morning to releive her headaches.
After Jesse got dressed in the bathroom he realized he didn't bring a shirt. He walked bare-chested back to their room and smiled as he saw Aries softly asleep. Jesse quietly searched the floor for a shirt, but gave up when he couldn't find one. He walked down the small stairs into the rec room, where him and Kelsey were the night before. He grabbed his cell off the large light wood desk and collapsed on the lime green bean bag chair and dialed Kelsey's cell.
"What do you want?" said Kelsey's groggy voice over the phone.
"Kels... It's Jesse I need your help." Jesse said knowing he just woke her up.
"I'll be right over."
Ten minutes passed and Jesse heard the sound of tired but worried Kelsey stumbling through the back door. She was the only one who just walked in without knocking... she even had her own key. Jesse jumped up the stairs only see the site of Kelsey in the jeans she had on the day before, the t-shirt she most likely slept in, her hair not brushed and no shoes. With large bags under her eyes you could still see the worry on her face. "What's wrong? Is everything okay? Where's Ari?"
Jesse explained everything to Kelsey. She just sat there, listening to the details about the night, asking no questions.
"I just want to know what's wrong with her, but I can't figure it out." Jesse said as he finished explaining.
"We can't ask her, it might make the problem worse. We just have to watch her, it might be nothing." said Kelsey. To Jesse, she always made sense of things. Both Kelsey and Jesse got up and went to the bedroom to check if Aries was awake. A scary shock came to both when they saw that her sheets were left alone. She wasn't there.
