At lunch they sat at the back of the school on the grass. For once, they ate in silence. Aries quietly scribbling notes to herself for her song. Kelsey sat with her head against the wall sucking on a sour key and looking up at the sky, and Jesse watched her from the corner of his eye. He loved her face, from the way her cheeks dimpled when she smiled, to the way her hair made her eyes stand out like oceans. He didn't realize that he was looking straight at her until she looked back and smiled.
Kelsey was a flirt. She always was. She also knew when a guy liked her, she had that sense. Thats another reason why Aries and Kelsey were so different, Aries and a sense in music and Kelsey had a sense in guys. Kelsey had suspected Jesse of liking her but never had the chance to prove it until now.
Kelsey thought it would be fun to play with him, she flipped her hair and smiled back. The quietly giggled back and forth over Aries who was sitting between them.
"Hey you two does this sound okay?
Lose your breath
In life or death
Don't take the coke
The ex, the meth?" asked Aries, completely clueless of what was happening over her. Kelsey and Jesse tried hard to hold in their laughter.
"What's so funny? Was it really that bad?" asked Aries wide-eyed and again, clueless.
"It's great Aries, we can add them to the song tonight." said Jesse saving both of them from beign caught in the act of flirting.
After school Kelsey came over to the twins' house as usual. Aries scrambled around the studio, pressing sound buttons and special effects to create the perfect background melody for their bands next song. Jesse and Kelsey just sat on the plush beanbag couch that sat at the back under their white board where they left messages for each other, watching Aries wheel around the room in her chair from the computer to the sounds station. It was like watching a dog chase a cat around the room.
"Kels, you wanna go play pool, this mad woman won't be done for a while." asked Jesse as he watched Aries type away at the computer. Kelsey nodded her head and climbed up from her position on the couch. Together they walked out of the studio and down the four steps that led to the lower part of the basement. This was Kelsey's favourite room in the twins' house. They all painted the walls with chalkboard paint so you could write on the walls with chalk. There was a large TV with a gamecube and a pool table in the room. Along with about a gazillion different pillows and bean bag chairs. For once the walls were clean, the night before Jesse and Aries washed the wall of all the drawings. Kelsey picked up a peice of chalk off the desk that sat in the corner and wrote her name on the wall. Jesse watched her as he set up the pools balls.
"Ready to get your ass kicked?" joked Jesse, knowing he was going to get his ass own ass kicked.
"Uh-huh sure buddy, remember last time, i think i had one ball left when you had hmm let's see... six!" said Kelsey proudly as she promptly took the firt shot and sunk two solids. She flashed Jesse her 'I'm better then you and you know it' smile.
