The Storm

Listening to: Nickelback - Too Bad
Feeling: contemplative
To anger and sorrow on one knee you fall Wondering why you exist at all This futile prison drives you insane Sick of the questions so tired of shame Bricks scath your back as you're chained to the wall Screaming in pain amidst the squall Blood burns your skin Its acid inscribes Scars through your soul where bliss used to lie Steadily losing to everything Slavery or death the question remains How do you know just how to escape The facade you put up is fading and fake They don't see where it rains where your time will run out The fact that's unwanted You know without doubt Lightning cracks but no one can hear Save for you Choking on tears Glad most are free from where now you reside That those near are far from the monster inside... I don't know how long I can stand being here. At times I'd rather disappear Though no matter what happens one thing is clear: I know I must always perservere. Why fight a battle only to lose? The verdict is always up to you. It's never easy not to die there Yet this time I know I can beat the despair. It's such hard work for a little girl One who supposedly has the world. I'm tortured, troubled, tainted, untamed. Yet this "poor little rich girl" shall not be slain.

i like it. it describes how some things are worth every bit of sacrifice, even if that means death. it's a good poem.
