I was watching "The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn" last night, only because there was nothing else on, and there was actually a funny bit on there. Now, before I say what it is, I'm gonna say that it was the people on this show that believe this, it's not me, even though I am not a huge NASCAR fan, I wouldn't say stuff like this, only because people I know/like actually are into it. Anyway, with that little disclaimer out of the way, the whole thing was that apparently the announcer for the show said something the show before about NASCAR fans, and said that they were "good, simple folk", and people got offended by that. So on the show last night, he was trying to offer his apologies to people who actually liked NASCAR, but all they showed were his outtakes for the apology. They showed about 10 of them, but I can only remember a few of them, so here are the ones that I can remember:
"Alright, I'm sorry. I didn't mean anything when I called NASCAR fans "simple", I meant it in a sarcastic way, but apparently humor is lost on these very complex people"
"I know, I know, I'm just jealous. I don't know anything about an engine...I mean, I don't even know how you people get your cars up on those cement blocks in your front lawns!"
"I'm a lot like you guys...my wife wears a nightgown, too. The only difference is that my wife wears it at night, not in the middle of the day when she's at Sams Club"
"I'm sorry I made fun of you, I'm not well-read like some of you apparently are. For example, I didn't even know that the mullet was a popular fashion choice again!"
"Obviously, I'm being sarcastic here when I'm making fun of NASCAR fans, this is just a skit where I have to act condescending. That's C-O-N-D-E-S..."
