I feel a rant coming on. Why do TV shows refuse to change? I was watching Pokemon and I realized that it hasn't changed in the 9 years it has been on the air. It has done the same thing over and over again. MUSIC CHANGE: K-OS - Man I Used To Be Here... I will give you an example: 1. Group is travelling to next town. 2. Group meets fellow trainer. 3. Team Rocket steals Pokemon. 4. Trainers get Pokemon back. Team Rocket goes away into sky. 5. Ash battles fellow Trainer. 6. Ash becomes friend with trainer. 7. Group continues on to next town. There we go. I've just described a half an hour show in 7 easy steps. This is the way the show has always been. It hasn't gone many changes. The few changes it has gone through has been very small and insignifiant. For example, the three biggest changes it has gone through are... 1. New area to explore. 2. New Pokemon to catch. 3. Replaced Misty with May. MUSIC CHANGE: Poison - Unskinny Bop This is why Pokemon's popularity has slowly fallen. It hasn't gone through many changes to keep itself up with the children of today. When it first came out in '98, it was incredible. It was the most original thing I had ever seen. That was 7 years ago. Now there are like 10 Pokemon copies. It hasn't adapted to today's standards so, it has dropped in popularity. I long for the days when TV shows were new and original. Now, most new TV shows are copies of some former popular show. They use the same forumla as some TV show that was popular. They're using the same old shit that some other crappy show used before it. MUSIC CHANGE: Poison - Every Rose Has Its Thorn When Digimon came out, it was also new, exciting and incredible. BUT, what kept it new and exciting was that it made a major change each new season. New characters, new Digimon, new enemies. The producers knew how to make a TV show. They knew how to keep it popular. MUSIC CHANGE: Jimi Hendrix - My Friend Wow. And to think this whole entry came to life because they were playing rap on Muchmusic and I didn't wanna watch it. Half of this entry probably doesn't make sense. Lemme sum it up for you illiterate people. TV isn't original anymore.
