Yesterday was insane. It was really cold, and we had winds at about 60 mph... Band practice was like the dust storm from hell. The track isn't paved and only about half the football field has grass left on it, so the wind picked up a crapload of dust and hurled it at us. It hurt like heck. It got in my eyes. There was grit in my mouth (I'm surprised I'm not coughing up mudballs..), there was sand in my shoes (it felt like a frickin beach!), there was dirt up my nose (snot is NOT supposed to be black!!)... I didn't even FIND OUT how much was in my ears until I had my shower.. (lol I'm sorry- I'm sure you are thoroughly disgusted now. :-p)
And they had us marching in THAT! and running.. and.. and.. DANCING!!! arrgh.. All in all though, it was a really good practice. Everyone did a great job out there in spite of it all. It's something to remember, that's for sure! Oh yeah and they pointed me out as an example. (a good example!) That made me really happy. "If anyone doesn't understand how to do it, just look at Mary Poole sometime." wohoo!!
I was sooo tired when I got home. For some reason my shoulders and neck really hurt too. I think it was all the hunching over to keep my face out of the wind. lol I think half the time I was walking with my eyes closed. well.. half closed anyways..
And to add insult to injury, the power started flickering halfway through my shower, so I was all afraid and I rushed myself just in case. (it would SUCK to get caught with soapy hair..) Buut it turns out I didn't really need to anyway. I suppose I should be grateful for that. :)
I didn't get any homework done either. Wednesdays are terrible that way. Haha.. which is why, I must now run off to do it...
toodles!
(oh yeah and my Econ teacher made some more interesting remarks about me: that I should work for the IRS so I can spite people, :-p, and that If he screws up I can shoot him- because I'd do it and go straight to the head... hah! :-p lol, still I kinda like it when he makes fun of me.. lol and then my friend was like "why not me, I'm the one with guns!" but he told her no, because "she'd probably leave him to suffer". ahh, I love that teacher. He's so politically incorrect. It's wonderful. )
MUAH!
