Warriors?

Hehe fixed the spelling of warriors. Okay here is a slightly phisophical question for all of you out there reading my entries. The story of the invasions of Ireland states that before humans arrived Tuatha De Dannan invaded and controlled Ireland. The Cycle describes them as a warrior race, that they were fair. But its very specific that they were great warriors. After the humans come the Tuatha go underground and become the last pantheon of the Celts. The Tuatha are who most people call the fey. They are the ones that occupy the Otherworld. All the tales of the fey describe them as mischevious, and somewhat scared of humans. So what happened to these warrior people? How did the fey go from being a race of warriors to being a race that is driven underground by men and only comes out to play games and trick men into falling into the Otherworld? Any ideas would be appreciated.
