Halloween PoEM

Let me tell you a story Of how you've been deceived This here is a tale Of All Hallow's Eve While you may think it Just costumes, candy, trick-or-treat The real Halloween Is nothing fun nor sweet On this night Things come alive When goodness rests And evil thrives As you sleep In the dead of night Things go creep And give you fright The thing that lurks From under your bed Hides in waiting To see you dead Beware of the Boogieman Behind your closet door For on this day He can get you like never before Is it real? What do you perceive? Is it there? Or just make-believe? In the graveyard Piles of bones Come back to life From a world unknown The ghost croons The werewolf howls And all beware The witch’s scowls Vampires linger in the dark Concealing in your dreams They sit in anticipation Of your inevitable screams The shadows you see Are not what you thought Something is there All you know you now forgot It isn’t your imagination It isn’t just the wind All you thought fictitious Just laughs at your sins Now what once was hidden Can now again be seen This is the day Known as Halloween. And remember kids While candy is dandy Liquor is quicker :)
