WILLMAR — The Willmar Cardinals fell to St. Cloud Apollo 96-89 in a Central Lakes Conference swimming dual on Thursday. “We swam hard,” said coach Carl Shuldes. “It was a big improvement over Tuesday (the opener).” Andrew Nicklawsky won the 200 and 100 free and swam a leg on the winning 400-free relay with Andy Johnson, Eric Hedy and Steve Kluver. Hedy also won the 500 freestyle with Jason Cain second. Willmar, which has only one rookie diver, was outscored 13-2 in the event. Kyle Schmidt and Jackson Roberts joined Nicklawsky and Johnson on the winning 200-free relay.
