Today I took my cat Isabel to the animal hospital. It's a new establishment called Healing Rooms, and I'm very impressed with the place. Have you ever seen that show on the Animal Planet channel called 'Vets in Practice'? It's about a bunch of young vets. Healing Rooms reminded me of that show.
I think young people are nicer than old people because young people are immature and playful. And I think it's easier for us to see humour in stuff. And I think we're more friendly. So I think that's why I like the people working at Healing Rooms. (It sounds more like some aromatherapy place, doesn't it?)
Isabel is 8 years old. I found out today that in cat years, that's about 50-60 years. I knew that she was aging, but today I became more aware of the fact that she's more susceptible to health problems and that I need to look out for her more. Thinking about what will happen to her if I don't look out for her makes me sad.
But on a happier note, I was quite proud of how Isabel handled herself at the vet. Normally she hatesstrangers and won't let them touch her. I mean, generally, she's not a very nice cat. (Except with me and certain members of my family.) But today, although she wasn't happy about being driven around in the car and being handled by strangers, she dealt with it very well. She was quite calm in the car and she pretty much let the vet do whatever he wanted with her. This included sticking a thermometer up her butt, shaving off some fur at her paw, cleaning out the pus (yuck!) in her paw and washing it with iodine. Not fun stuff. She took it like a champ, though. Yay, Isabel!
If you think going on about my cat like this makes me some sort of psycopath, go read my User Info. Then go stick a thermometer up your butt.
