So Hari Raya came and went, and I don't really have anything to say about it. Except that I miss Ramadhan.
And that I spent 2 nights before Hari Raya painting one of the dining room walls. I'd take a picture to show off my handiwork, but it's white on white, so it's not really anything to shout about, is it?
Azzi's going to Switzerland again next week.
Ah yes, now I remember that I've something to rant about. I went to Berjaya Times Square yesterday to check out the shopping, but mostly to see Debenhams.
Firstly, I find it quite lame that they had to name it Times Square, like in New York, and have spots called Brooklyn Avenue or Broadway Park or whatnot (the names of the last 2 aren't accurate, but you get the picture). Nevermind that most of the shops aren't open yet, but the ones that are are mostly tastless, low-end sort of stores. Debenhams was a disappointment too. While in the UK it's an extremely affordable department store, over here they're fronting like they're as high-end as Saks 5th Avenue.
Also, the idea of a theme park within the shopping mall might seem cool, but I'm not quite sure the already dissatisfactory shopping experience would be enhanced with the sounds of people screaming as they ride the rollercoaster. A rollercoaster whose rumbling resembles the sound of a building collapsing, which can also be heard throughout the mall.
And don't let anyone fool you into thinking that the building is situated on a prime piece of real estate, because right across from it sits Pudu Jail. Pudu Jail used to be one of the biggest-assed penitentiaries in Malaysia. (Think rapists, murderers, electric-chair executions, hangings...) Of course, the place is pretty much closed down now, although I think they still do over-nighters and such.
As someone who looooves to shop, I doubt that I'll ever be a regular patron of "Times Square". So in conclusion, the place sucks.
:)
:P
