Some people don't understand that rumors can ruin everything for one person. They can ruin their repuatation, their image, their self-esteem, EVERYTHING. Sure, at the moment you might feel soo p-offed at that one person for something but words do hurt. First off..to explain something..Manal is this one girl who came to Pulaski in January. She just transferred from an all girls' private school to ghetto ass pulaski. She was clueless to how things worked around here, so for awhile my friends and I "took her in" (since one of our bestest friends just left to high school of the arts, we needed a replacement). Well Manal started to think people thought she was Bi because she hung out with a lesbian chick and because of all these accidents. And being this insecure "innocent" girl who didn't want to think badly of her, she set out to prove her sexuality. She began to flirt with every guy possible and alot of girls began to think SUPER bad of her. I have to admit I did too, but I knew why she was doing this. I could tell that she just didn't want people to think she's Bi. But I knew that the more she tried to prove herself being straight it made her look like she was trying too hard. Of course, girls started to see how "sluty" Manal was acting and began to spread NASTY rumors. And of course, guys would say anything to make them look like they're a pimp so they would say yes if a girl asked them if Manal gave them head. Sure, Manal handled the whole wrong, but she didn't know any other way. You guys have to be understanding and realize that she didn't know any other way to fix the situation. I feel bad, because I just sat back and watch all of this. I could've helped her, but I didn't. I was still p-offed at the fact that she forgot about us as soon as she started to flirt with every guy possible. But, in the end I saw past my anger, and tried to help her as much as I could. But it was too late. She was being harrassed everyday..being called a "dyke" or being accused of giving head to every guy. Of course I knew it wasn't true. I was the only one who actually sat down with her and got to know her, but people like to assume the worst of everyone. So people accepted the fact that she was a ho. Because of all those rumors, she left MPS three weeks after coming to Pulaski. I don't know where she is now, But all I could remember was her crying next to me asking me why people could be so mean. Manal didn't handle her situation the right way, but was it worth it to ruin her reputation, to spread something that wasn't even close to the truth?
