after being back to work for a few weeks, the cancel button was pushed again. i had off friday and i've got off monday; no word on the status of things after that, but the daytime work has been incredibly lacking, so it may again be awhile.
i'm going to increase the job search.
as for the new flat, we have it!
well, technically, mike has it. with my income, it put us over the 'earning cap' for the first year, so i have to pretend i'm moving back in with my parents and mike will be the only one on the lease. all the bills must henceforth be in his name, and i can't receive mail there on a regular basis; i also have to park in the lot across the street. it's not too bad, and they apparently have 'no way of proving i live there' short of seeing the mail (how that works, i don't know), but melissa (property manager) gave us some hints to be sneaky.
the only part i worry over is that she's leaving the company, so someone new will be in her place within a month or two. i'm going to ring her and ask if this will be a problem and/or if the new person will be 'in on it,' because i don't want to have to worry.
we'll see what happens.
this evening, mike's uncle is having a fry-out as mike's other uncle, who lives in north carolina, is in town (which is rare). it should be fun; his family is hilarious and they make me feel like i belong well. (=
that should be the night. we also got some movies from the library, so i hope we'll get to see one before mike goes to work.
on a semi-related note, i picked up a few travel show DVDs from the library, also. i like watching 'Rick Steves' EUROPE' on PBS, so i checked to see if they had any on file and they did. i got 'germany, the alps, and travel tips,' as well as 'european christmas.' (=
we'll be there in april, but i looove christmas.
anyhow, i suppose that's all for now. hope everyone is having a great weekend. (=
