the windows are open; there's a slight breeze coming in, a perfect temperature of ~17ºC (62ºF). the rest of the week is set to be warmer, but i really enjoy the cooler evenings; the official start of autumn is monday, and it's what has kept a bit of cheer going for me even when the rest of my life is sort of in a rough patch.
part of me hopes the leaves start turning soon, though really, if they do turn soon, then the fun of anticipation will be gone. some of the short shrubs along the motorway (interstate) are turning orange and yellow, but the larger trees are holding out.
i can't wait until the colours become bright; i like going for a drive on the 'scenic highway' and taking far too many pictures that clog up my memory cards.
work always gets incredibly slow during september. i need to finish updating my résumé and get the lot sent out, because winter is coming and the commute gets to be hazardous when the snow storms start coming.
they won't let me work from home, which would be ideal (and not terribly difficult to arrange), so i'm stuck looking elsewhere.
i wish my summer job were year-round.
i love it. &hearts,&hearts,&hearts .
i'm hoping this weekend to check out a few more cars with michael; we've kept looking, but we've had no luck so far. he needs to really jump on the offers, but he procrastinates and ends up missing out.
i also have to finish going through the last of the junk i've got at my parents' house, and there's the annual 'christmas closeout' at what's locally known as the tinsel factory. that should keep the weekend a bit busy. (=
if any of you have yet to do so, i highly suggest you read the latest installment of brendan's political postings. (yey! alliteration.)
make sure to click to the diagram he's got, too.
this entry was really an exercise in cheering myself up. i'd say it's done fairly well. fall always does that. (=
have a great weekend, everyone!
