today begins the string of moving days. from now 'til wednesday, we'll be shuffling our things over to our new place a block over. that's far better than moving across town, as we did the last time we moved, but i can still reminisce as i'm sick as i was last time.
i've spent the morning packing things up, while mike's been on the phone switching the utilities over. i'm a bit sore that he hasn't helped pack much, but i do have to give him credit, as he HATES being on the phone.
he's going to go get the keys to the new place today, and we should be able to start getting things over there at round 1830 or so.
i still feel like doodies, though.
my throat isn't hurting quite as bad, but my head is completely congested. i'd like to put the heater on, but that causes me to get a severe sinus headache, so i think i'd rather be chilly.
on the plus side, it appears that i may be feeling better within the next few days. i won't elaborate more than this: coughing is productive.
i suppose it's time to get back to packing. just figured i'd put a small update for now.
[update to the update]
it's a few hours later. i've been packing and we just got back from picking up the keys to the new place, as well as running to the bank and a few other things. it was nice to have a break.
mike's dad agreed to help us move things tomorrow. thank god i won't have to help lug the heaviest things again; last time, i thought i was gunna keel over (in fact, when i went to the office to be let back in because i'd forgotten our food in the fridge, the guys were like, 'hey, are you all right? should we take you to the hospital?'). i don't understand why i'm always sick when we move, so i'm blaming it on stress. and my shitty immune system.
my dad just called and said he'd come down tomorrow, too, to help out. of course, he also said he'd just found out that mum has tomorrow off. i suppose he could use a small escape, hah.
(mum's not that bad, she just likes to lecture. a LOT.)
i'm hoping everything will be done by wednesday so i can spend that day fixing things up nicely and making it look like 'home.' i always go crazy with that part.
you should see me at hanukkah and christmas.
as soon as we get things looking well, i'll take pictures. (= i'm going to get back to packing again in a minute, though.
a quick trip-update: we're starting to get it set up a bit better. we may stay in england for a week instead, and paris will be two days or so; germany and austria will be another week or so, and we'll spend the rest of the time in holland. we've still got to make a list of the specific places we'd like to see, but we'll have four weeks for everything, so we should be able to have busy days as well as lazy days. (=
anyhow, time to get. and i don't know if i mentioned this, but i rarely ever edit my entries. i apologise for the typos in advance.
ps. (i reeeally hope you don't mind, kate, but i love the idea you had for your entry. so, as a result. . ..)
ask me any two questions you want and i'll answer them.
also, sorry for being a lame online friend today. scott came then tamara walked in and i forgot i was on the comp because she left the kids in the car and i hauled ass out the door. (i didnt even take my purse or lock the door behind me. im responsible)
