Rodney and Music

so... i want to share a story about my cousin. He's still single and currently owns his own house in Providence. Goes on few dates and he was with us when i went to the air show. On our way back, I asked for my radio station, because my dad's was only playing commercials at the moment. And the next song was "hey there Delilah" by the Plain White T's. [good song] and i made a comment about how tender the song was... my cousin objected, and we got into a debate of music and bands. He claimed that today's bands merely stuck words together to make up a band name and it was lame... He claimed that most bands were just one hit wonders and that they were dead the moment they came out... I asked him what made a good band name, he gave me examples like the Eagles, and Pink Floyd... I asked what was wrong with Plain White T's, Panic at the Disco and Flyleaf, He said they weren't oringinal... I asked him to come up with one... he didn't... he said it wasn't worth anything to him... I asked him why?... Then "Istanbul" by They might Be giants came on the radio I asked him if they were lame, he said no because they were his time... I asked why They might be giants were so much better at making a band name then Panic at the Disco, He didn't answer... I called him prejudice towards today's music because he just likes his 'generation's better. He called me biased... I told him that being biased means i have an opinion, which is better than being prejudice. I then asked about the one hit wonders that he mentioned... and asked about various ones like Citizen King He admited that music everywhere is full of one hit wonders... So i asked why my generation's were different? he didn't say much after that. I asked for examples of one hit wonders from my generation... he didn't give me any. I could think of many but he didn't know any. I could give him some from his generation, but not the other way around. I think i won that debate... don't you? 97th entry!
