More .....Poem, VI

Listening to: Weathered- Creed
Feeling: pissy
"if a poem is suposed to reach a reader on a personal level...why are you telling her about her life...use it in you're own! " [anonymous (71.35.245.114)] ...perhaps because the girl that is dillusional doesn't realize it and therefore needs this sort of wake up call? as for using it in my own. Maybe if you thought about it, you might realize that there is a reason for this point of view? "but sometimes the reader doesn't mean to offend the writer. Therefore, it shouldn't be a big deal that others think differently about your poetry. " [anonymous (205.121.114.58)] ...only if the person is stupid. Differently, i can stand, it's when its interpreted incorrectly that it offends me. Maybe if people thought more about what they read, the world might be a better place.....or maybe we should just burn all books! then no one would have to think. the Government would collide in on it's self and the world would end in a nucular war. .................. and i was having such a nice night. .................. We went to VI after Rehearsal and i haven't laughed that hard in a long time. Cassie's Crazy Chelsey's the Mama Kiesh is the bi*** Lisa is the innocent beauty Erin is the witty one Katie is the new one And I'm the Artistic one in the group Cassie tried to apologize for our laughing and i just couldn't stop. great fun... then i come home and i don't think i'll be getting any sleep tonight. wow.. i start and end my day... pissed.

That was the most fun I've had in weeks. I love you!
Quick question about those anonymous messages and such miss. How does one interpret a poem incorrectly? The point of poetry or any piece of art is to be able to incorporate it into any person's life as they wish. It's like giving a person food and telling them they're eating it wrong. Don't want people to dislike it? Don't publicize it. I give you an A for effort and imagination. Keep on writing.
They can eat a banana any way they'd like, I ain't gonna stop them. :D
Therein lies a perfect example of what I mean. You eat a banana by peeling it because that's how you and most other people eat it. I'm not trying to kill your night, but don't try to win this because you can't, just agree that everybody has their own ways and just because it's not how you do it, it's not wrong. Let them enjoy your poetry how they'd like to.
Yes, I have had banana peel, and it doesn't taste that great. What of it? Like I said, there are people out there who'd eat the whole thing like monkeys because they like it like that. I agree that writers try to convey a message, but if you're going to try to force readers to interpret writings in one way and one way only, yes, you might as well write nothing because it serves no one to be a tyrannical author. Again, you can't win this one.
I totally agree with the person who has written all of that!

I think people are allowed to interpet it differently. However, it is frustrating when people read your poem and get an entirely different idea than the one you were trying to portray... And then they give you ADVICE based on what they thought the poem was saying, and of course the advice is wrong because they have a seperate idea than you did...
Also, Mariah may have a point in saying that perhaps people just didn't read her poem thoroughly enough. This could be a valid reason that it was misinterpeted. Her poem is more complex than the poems some people try to write these days. I read the poem two or three times, and then was able to begin to grasp the concept of the poem. I loved it! But I had to take the time to read it carefully and think about it... You can't rush good poetry.
