Listening to: "Noise and Kisses" - The Used
Feeling: happy
Kyle - here's our AP Eng thing all typed up for you. :)
Over the summer we have to read:
The Great Gatsby - Fitzgerald
Into the Wild - Krakauer
Our assignments for the books are:
Novel Journal: This is a reaction to what you've read, a record of any questions that may arise, and an examination of the text itself (what is the work's theme, purpose, significance within our society?) Also, identify the connecting theme that runs through the two selections. Keep this is a college ruled notebook. Make sure to date each entry and record the pages being discussed
Analysis Paper: Develop a question about the work and compose a clear, logical, response of 3-5 pages (typed, double spaced) that answers the question. Your essay must include proper MLA text citations (Thank you Miss Young!) in support of your arguments. Prior to writing the essay, send your question to me via email (I'll email that to you later so it's not just on the internet).
Due the first day of school.
Ok, I started typing this for you, but it's too long, so I'll copy mine and give it to you sometime...are you taking the ACT on Saturday? Or going to Krystyna's? I'll be at both if you're going to one I can give it to you then. Hope this helps in the meantime and find the Narnia books for me - I have the Inferno - I don't think it's the one Miss Young meant with pencil, but it's fine. Talk to you later!
I'll probably stop by Rachel's and have a fun day with Pat Ric and her. Maybe we'll plan this all around that.
