Lake Lure, NC 2006
Thursday
we left the house @ 6:15 and headed to MeMe's. after picking her up and saying "hi" to Wade we drove to the McDonalds where we were supposed to meet Ed. Once we got there we ate breakfast and talked for a few minutes before heading out. the drive down there was really fun. we played Mad Libs and watched Blue Collar Comedy Tour Rides Again. we stopped once a gas station where we were "attacked" by Mexicans. then we got to Lake Lure. we had to stop off at the base office and check in, but my dad missed it so we had to drive quite a bit down the road and turn around. well after we checked in we got directions to the house. we had to drive up one of the steepest and curviest roads ever to get there. once we arrived we unpacked and walked around. the house was beautiful and so was the view. so after a little while we decided it was time to go get some dinner. we went down to LaStrada and the second we sat down it started storming like mad crazy. the mountain that Chimney Rock was on disappeared b/c of all the clouds. it was really cool. so it rained and stormed for like an hour and we just sat there and enjoyed the food and company. after that we all loaded into the van and drove down to Ingle's to get food. we loaded the shopping cart up with junk and then squeezed ourselves back into the van which was packed full of people and food. after that we drove back to the house and hung-out. Dad and Ed went out to get beer and to drive around so Me, Andy, Alex, Mom, and MeMe played basketball for a while and then me, Andy, and Alex played pool downstairs. After a while we all settled down and started playing this game called Clever Endevor. it was really funny and it was made by Mensis, so my dad called Nick (since he's a Mensis) and told him what we were doing. after we played for like 4 hours we all decided to go to bed and rest up.
Friday
was lots of fun. Dad, Ed, and Andy decided they wanted to go down to the beach. well us girls didn't wanna go so Me, Mom, MeMe, and Alex drove down to Chimney Rock and went shopping and walked around. after a while we went back down to the river and walked around and stuck our feet in. it was great. after that we went back to the house and made sandwhiches and hung-out. it started storming after the guys go back and so we weren't sure if we were going to be able to go to Larkin's or not. but after it calmed down we drove down to the lake and decided to take the tour. Me, Dad, Andy, Alex, and Ed all loaded up and went out on the lake. after about an hour we met Mom and MeMe @ Larkin's where we ate dinner. it was really good and we all ended up getting dessert. Me, Mom, Dad, and MeMe shared this brownie sundae thing that was HUGE. after that we went back down to the dock and loaded up. the guide took an extra 45 min taking us back and I had to pee soooo bad. after that we went home and just hung-out and played pool. I couldn't sleep so I was bad and I stayed up until 1am watching new Stargate episodes. they are really good.
Saturday
Ed and Andy went back to the beach and Alex wanted to stay @ the house so Me, Mom, Dad, and MeMe drove to Chimney Rock and did a little shopping. then after that we drove into Hendersonville and walked around and saw all the bears. it was lots of fun. but then we passed a Sonic on the way back so we had to stop and get me a cheesebuger and cheese fries. after that we headed home where I laid down and watched TV and then took a nap b/c I had a headache. after that we cooked out on the grill and then decided to play that game again. I didn't feel like playing so I sat there and watched. after a while we ended up watching Forest Gump b/c I wanted to see Gary Sinese. it was really funny. after we played the game for like 3 hours we packed it up and went to bed.
Sunday
we loaded the vehicle's back up and headed out @ 9:30. we drove for a while b4 stopping @ a gas station to get "breakfast". after that we got on the interstate where I fell asleep for 2 hours. then we stopped @ Cracker Barrell and got lunch. it was really good and we just sat there and talked. I also bought this cute little leopard beanine baby. then we got back on the road and drove to the Outlet Center. we walked around for a while and then decided that there wasn't anything to see so we got back on the road. it poured sooooo hard when we were going through Durham that my dad had to drive 35 mph on the highway b/c you couldn't see 2 feet in front of you. then we stopped in South Hill for gas and a bathroom break. while we were there we saw this cute little black kitty who ran away from us. after that we drove straight to MeMe's where we dropped her off and saw Wade and Becky. then we headed home and unpacked. I talked to Heather, Kelly, Lane, and Julie and then got off @ 10 to watch the Dead Zone. after that I went to bed and I didn't wake up the whole night b/c I was sooooo tired
