Shadows Still Remain

Feeling: shaken
Eee Gawd. I've been perusing around town and I realized that I need some money for some new cd's. As of lately I've grown somewhat tired of the collection so I made a small list of upgrades/ wants that I'll be having to pick up once my birthday money comes by. Only problem is that I'm so tight with my money that I'm not too sure if I'll really be buying on them *tugs at collar* I think I got a working plan though so before we know it, things'll be alright... I hope. In case any of you are wondering the cds are by: -Matthew Good -Dave Matthews -LOP -Life House I'm sure I'll eventually work my up to getting what I want but until that day... well, until that day I shall wait, or something like that. So how was your day? Mine was alright, got that timeline I was working on back - 85. originally was an 88.7, but he somehow took off some marks somewhere in between. God forbid he gives anyone a really good mark. Oh well, I'll take what I get and run with it, better that then a zero, right? Right? I'm feeling slightly better today, even though I know I really should be working on some advertisement I've got due for tomorrow. Oh well, there'll be plenty of time for that - I'm merely worried about getting this done and up so that I don't have to let another day pass w/o something being up here. Slowly but surely the number of people commenting in and on my journal dies down to it's last numbers - the few and the faithful, and to those of you who are actually doing this, I thakn you from somewhere deep down in my little black heart. I assure you that it's not as small as the Grinch's heart, but it's small nonetheless. So today was just there, I spend over an hour roaming around the net, just looking for various things. I was almost able to rip a whole CD off of there, but four out of like fifteen songs weren't working for me so I just left it alone for today. Stupid piracy laws and such. I totally agree that it's wrong, don't get me wrong but the money that's associated with buying a cd; ha! It's always the amount of songs plus a dollar or two, depending on the album type. Honestly that's what it always is. Now if you're buying a greatest hits, it's slightly different just because, but for a regular cd with say, fifteen songs - the price'll be like 16/17 dollars and then tax on top of that. Times like this I wish I were native or somehing - or at least 1/163 native... I think that's how our canadian government does it *ponders*. For those of you who don't quite understandw hat I'm saying - up here in Canada, if you're part native (to an extent) you get to pay no taxes and you're basically allowed into a university due to the fact that because they wanted their freedom and are now in bad shape. The bloody government's a bleeding heart when it comes to this kind of stuff, well, they're a bleeding heart when it comes to two ethnicities, however, I shall not get into this right now for it will only cause trouble and more mayhem that I really want right now. I suppose that I could talk about an overall point here. The point being that in this bloody overly political correct world that we limit our ownselves. Now, in no way shape or form do I approve of anarchism for I have the utmost confidence in democracy, capitalism and communism - You could almost say that a motto of mine is "preservation of capital" and all that jive - but that is another story for another day. What I'm saying is that with all of our intelligence, with al of our knowledge and self proclaimed wisdom we are still stepping around and tip-towing around certain issues that, because of a lack of knowledge and - let's be frank here- balls, we do not deal with. -Multicultrualism; good idea, Black history month; not such a good idea. -Quebec and the Native seperatism; good idea, Allowing them to be themselves and still leach off of Canadian society as the government sees fit; not nearly as good of an idea as first thought. -George Bush and saving the world; good intentions. Trying to wipe out terrorism all together; Damned near impossible. -United Nations attempting to unite the world; superb idea. Trying to police the world with a minimal task force; well... I'm not going to say anything because if you can't figure that one out you really need to catch up on times. Does anyone here see where I'm going with this? Anyone? If anyone does please help me out here because I'm sure that some of the politically correct bleeding hearts will be leaving some messages here for me to read. All I ask is for is no death threats, please and thank you. It doesn't really matter anyway, because the U.S. owns the U.N. In actuality, the united states of America is so much like a mafia that it's almost frightening. I'm not bad mouthing them as much as I am attempting to prove my point, so all of you americans out there - calm down. Everyone knows that the mafia exists (just like the US) but what they don't always realize is that the mafia has corporate fronts which include: postal services, grocery stores, banks, the justice system, the list goes on but I shall spare you the torture. And just like the mafia with thier corporate and political fronts, the US has the UN as it's front. Startling isn't it? And it's not that the other countries don't suspect, but it's that they don't have the connections, guts, or enough support to say anything. Who's going to say anything, come on now. The Russians are too busy making illegal deals, the French are always doing the whole acting bit that goes something like this: "Stupid americans, who they think they are? Oh look, it's Germany - We Love You Americans!!" And Britain, well Britain is slightly dispelased with the fact that America took over their spot as the top super-power, but oh no, the Brits are no dummies. They know how to survive; "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em." Forget Rule Brittainia, they should just make a song based on said motto. And so the world shall go on with a false sense of hope and security. the United Nations is to the U.S. what AOL is to Time-Warner; a subsiderary. But getting back to the point of this entry (which was not conpiracy theories... but one day I shall get to that.)The point I was attempting to make, which kind of ties in nicely with the UN thing, is that we may feel as though things are not right and we won't say anything. But that is only for a limited few, such as Britain and Russia. Note that I did not say France because they're so worried about themselves that they can't see past their own territorial boarders. As for the rest of the world, they fall under three categories - the blind bleeding hearts, the capitalizers and the people who just don't give a damn. Now the Bleeding hearts are best summed up in a country we like to call Canada. Yup, my own country that I know and love, but it's the truth. We're just that way. I'm not saying whether it's a good or bad thing because god knows we have our faults, but it's kept us around this long so whatever our "morals and values" tell us, it's alright. We're just too god damn nice. As for the capitalizers, that's like Switzerland. The swiss are perhaps the funniest country in the world I think - smart and great. They play both sides of the feild, make money off of both sides of the field, yet somehow are able to retain their "neutrality." Smart country. When in need, they'll be there. Though personally, I question an army who puts a wine opener on their knife *Raises an eyebrow.* Then there are the people who just don't give a damn. Now the these people cannot see past their boarders at times too, but that's okay because they're trying to settle all of the stuff going down with themselves, both internally and unofficially. This is what we call the People's Republic of China. See, at times they know what's going on, and at times they just could care less, so what they do is let everyone else fight. They just do what they got to do to stay alive - not neccessarily in the game, but alive. And there you have it - I've paralleled the UN to this whole political correctness/ proper/ idealist mentality. Perhaps I could have done a better job, but if you don't like it - just leave a comment. Honestly though, why are we like this? Here's the number one reason why people make such large accomadations for certain things, almost to the point where it's reverse discrimination. The reason is that we don't know and as such, we fear what could happen and thus, we just do whatever they want us to do. Oh look, I'm a cop who's working the night shift with my female partner, we're about to be swarmed by a bunch of 6 foot five males. We defend myself and it's alright. But as soon as you put a race to those guys it's racism. They're red, yellow, black, pink or aquamarine - They were attacking you, but its' racism. How logical is that? We've put so much limitations that a cop always thinks "let's not defend ourselves because SIU or IA will be all over us for 'police brutality.' " Come on folks - we give our police a tough job like this, give them the means to protect both society and themselves, then we tie their hands just because if they're to do anything it's either "unreasonable force" because of "racism" and so it's called "brutality." WHAT? I'm sorry, but that doesn't do it for me. Now, I know in the US it's not like that, and kudos for a job well done, but up here the police are just so... unfortunate. I'm not doubting that there are bad cops, but I bet you that if they weren't so held back that there would be less deaths and more arrests. We might as well just give them the gun and baton and not teach them how to use it becuase everytime they pull it out they'll have mass amounts of paperwork to fill out and a truck load of accusations due to the fact that the system is built in such a way that it gives the criminal, the advocacy for the criminal and even bloody fools the upper hand. And why you ask? It's because as a society we bleed for any advocacy out there - and that's mostly based on the fact that we're afraid of offending whoever they're for. They say don't single us out - well it's pretty damn hard to not notice that you're different when you insist on having your own government - you want your own month, you want special privilages that are in no way associated with your abilities. I'm sorry but before you are anything else - you are a human being. I don't care where you're from, what religion you are, what tribe you come from or who your daddy is - you're Human just like me and as such you will be treated as such. You have a disability or handicap, that's alright - you have a disese or anything else that's non-avoidable, by all means I'll accomidate you. But don't come here healthy, in your right state of mind, just as capable as me and then tell me that you need to be accomodated based on something so trivial. I'm generous, but I am not a fool - and I am so sorry if you think I'm closed minded or ignorant... even arrogant, but "don't [urinate] in my ear and tell me it's raining." It's just not going to work. I've got nothing against anyone in particular - I'm not a closed minded person either, I merely believe in equal opprotunity. And what the government has to realize is that by making stupid provisions solely for the purpose of saying "I'm sorry for what happened ages ago" - it only contributes to the fostering of the problem. Like it or not, that's reality. Cordially, -Captain B. Worked up
