Listening to: Blue Oyster Cult - Astronomy
Feeling: hellagood
"All the times have come
Here, but now they're gone;
Seasons don't fear the reaper;
Nor do the wind or the sun or the rain
(We can be like they are)
Come on baby
(Don't fear the Reaper)
Baby, take my hand
(Don't fear the Reaper)
We'll be able to fly
(Don't fear the Reaper)
Baby, I'm your man."
Blue Oyster Cult - (Don't Fear) The Reaper
I love this song, as you can probably tell from my login name. I really like the message, which kind of goes with Keats's messages (Don't worry, live anyway), but moreso than that I love the haunting guitar hook at the beginning of the song, then in the middle at about 2:30. They're the most beautiful notes I've ever heard from a guitar.
So, I got an application to CMU yesterday, after school. I sent them my SAT results, and they were the first school to reply with anything. They sent me all the information, too...I don't know if that's just procedure, but I think they might want me. Which is good, because I'm really hoping to get accepted.
Work was pretty...boring...yesterday. About 4 hours of nothing, then it picke dup and I got 63 cents in tips. Amazing, isn't it? I didn't wait tables, so it was an appropriate tip (four ice cream customers yields a mere 63 cents...oy). I'm enjoying my stay there, but it's gonna be a little weird telling my boss I won't be there next year (I'm trying to get a job somewhere that I can work alone and at my own pace).
I was listening to Godzilla and have decided that it shall be the highlight reel music for the guy's track sprinters (the state qualifiers). It's powerful, fast, and smacks you in the face with the hook at the start (Bummmm bumbumbum bummm (three times) BWAAHwow (Sounds kinda godzilla like).)I think Astronomy would be better for the distance guys, because it has this tension and finally crescendoes at the end. Plus, it's long enough for the mile highlights. =D
Well, I'm done for now. Someone get online so I'm not so bored!
