Affectionate Strangers

10:52 Thursday Night Don't you think it's sort of strange that so much can happen in one night, but if someone asks you how it was all you can say is, "it was fine," or, "it was alright"? Person goes to party Person dances with like a million people Person makes a fool out of self using only a balloon and a camera Person does the limbo while macarena-ing while doing Cotton-Eye-Joe Person makes two new friends and gets in fight with an old one Person learns first steps of the tango Person is constantly surrounded by active stimuli Person goes home Person's Parent/Partner/Spouse asks what happened. Person replies, "Nothing much." I'm not saying all that would happen to one person, but it could, something like that. Like if it happened to you, and your mum asks, "so how was it?" you wouldn't say "Oh, man! I danced with like a million people, I made two new friends and got in a fight with an old one, I did the limbo while macarena-ing while doing the cotton-eyed-joe, I made a fool out of myself using only a baloon and a camera--it was pretty amazing." you would say, "It was cool." or maybe "It was alright." But then again maybe people asking how it was don't really care about the answer, they're just asking out of politeness because they were expected to. Too many expectations and not enough genuine feelings.

perhaps there are not to many genuine feelings because it simply takes to long to explain. In America, it's all about time. It sucks, but it's true. I like your thinking though. Nice insight. Teresa's Hott!
hmmm..that's interesting. I think parents ask because they think they're "supposed to keep you out of trouble" But they should know we all have the same answers no matter what and don't usually say all that stuff....
