New York: part three

Dear Diary, Another fun day in Manhatten! We were in the city for about eleven hours... lots of walking. But we saw so much stuff! ...I can't even remember what we saw, but it was a lot! lol I do remember we went to Ground Zero, which was very sad. Um... We did some shopping. I have two out of the seven gifts for my friends I need to buy. Oh dear! We also went to Little Italy, which was SO much fun! You know how today was the World Cup series between Germany and Italy? WOW. Were they excited in Little Italy! There were crowds of people in every bar, spilling out onto the street watching the game. We ate in this lovely tiny restaurant with DELICIOUS food, and listened to the New York Italians cheer and groan for their team. Then of course the fireworks were tonight! It was fun, but a little... crazy. We got there at seven pm., then stood for three hours before the fireworks started. Ouch. But it was cool. They blocked of a parkway (a.k.a. freeway) that runs right past the East River, and thousands of people were there watching. They had three big barges on the river where they set the fireworks off of. Other than that, it was a lot like the Logan fireworks, except tripled! Very cool. In other news... I've made up my mind about Loren. If he wants to, I think we'll just hang out and get to know each other. NOT dates. Just... hanging out. With lots of people around. And... if we like each other, then we like each other. If not... Anyway. Loren is supposed to call me on Friday, so hopefully we can talk this over and agree on something. Sigh. I wish life weren't so complicated. I wish I felt confident and beautiful... I really believe that girl's shouldn't rely on a guy for that feeling of self-worth... But sometimes I still wish I had a guy to make me feel like I'm someone special... I know, it's a bit hypocritical. Oh well. No one's perfect, right? Love, Lisa Ann
