adventures on the open road

Dear Diary, Surprise! I'm staying in Idaho a little longer than planned. Cassie and I started for home, but we only got about twenty miles before MY CAR DIED! Right on the freeway going 80 miles an hour. It was pretty strange. I heard the engine shut off, and then we started slowing down. But there was a semi on my right and a SUV on my tail, so I turned on my hazard lights until I could pull over to the side of the road. I tried jumping it, but I couldn't get it started. So my dad started up from Utah and my uncle started down from Rexburg. My uncle got there first, of course. He also failed in jumping it. Then my cousin-in-law showed up (I guess my mom called him?) and started tinkering with it... and told me it wasn't the battery. Which is why we couldn't jump start it! It's probably the fuel pump thingy majig. Anyway. Finally my dad showed up and after much debating and tinkering with the car, we called a tow truck. Then my dad left because it was getting late, and my cousin left, too. So my uncle and Cassie and I waited around for the tow truck... which never showed up. We finally called them and they said that... they weren't coming! Grr. So we called ANOTHER tow truck, which showed up almost an hour later. It was kinda fun to watch my car get towed! Tee hee. They took it to the car shop my cousin recommended, so hopefully it'll get fixed ASAP. It was a long day. From the time my car broke down to the time we actually got back to my uncle's house was FIVE hours. Five hours of waiting on the side of the road and at a rest stop. Yikes. MOVING ON! I've been having a great time in Idaho. Friday: We had a nice drive up and then hung out with my cousin, Daniel. We had dinner with my aunt and uncle, and then Cassie and I went and saw the movie Material Girls. It was pretty cute and LOTS of fun. Saturday: Cassie and I went shopping for two and a half hours! It was GREAT! Aeropostale was having an amazing sale so I got four shirts there. I also got a jacket from 1318 and two bracelets and two rings from Claire's. A very good shopping trip. We came home (my uncle's home) and took a nap and got cute, then drove up to Rexburg with Daniel. He goes to BYU-I, so we met all his cute roomates and then drove around Rexburg. (We stopped by Taco Bell for a minute and the guy at the counter was totally flirting with me; it was great. lol.) Dinner was at a little sandwich shop, then bowling with Daniel's friends. That was way fun. Daniel and I discovered it's in our blood to suck at bowling--we tied for last both games. After that we had ice cream at Coldstone, which is always the best! It was great. Sunday: Cassie and I got cute, then drove up to Rexburg again to go to church with Daniel. That was very fun. I love student wards! And Sunday School was actually entertaining AND thought-provoking! It was great. After church we came home (ish) to eat lunch and rest up for our drive home. Of course... the drive home didn't go exactly as planned... and now we're back at my uncle's house. Strange, strange day. Anyway, it's been quite the weekend. But the adventure's not over yet! I really am hoping to be able to get home by tomorrow evening... I miss all of my friends. I haven't talked to them much this weekend. I miss Jeremy and Bill and Eric and everyone... but most of all... MORGAN!!!!!!!!! I think I will try to see her ASAP if I ever get back into town. I am exhausted now, and tomorrow I have to figure out how to get my car fixed. So goodnight! Love, Lisa Ann P.S. Oh! Loren called me on Friday. He was totally understanding about EVERYTHING. We talked for awhile and worked it all out. We're still friends! I'm really glad. lol oh and he said that I could go to homecoming with someone else... which was nice... but I think that'd be a little weird. Anyway. Everything worked out! Just like it always does... eventually... tee hee
