Entry #152...She didn't last

Feeling: down
I have an exam Wednesday in Bio and my final exam in AGEC 217 Friday. Just got a call from Mom. Looks like we will be going to Illinois this weekend. My great-grandma, 99 years old, passed away I believe Mom said this morning. The funeral will be either Friday or Saturday. Waiting to hear on the exact date cause I'm trying to see if I can get it okayed to make up my final. She is my only great-grandma and though we didn't see each other often, we still grew up around her to a point. Once a year at least we would go see her. Funny how last month was the last time we would ever see her alive again and we didn't see it coming. She kept joking about outliving all her kids and they believed her. I feel horrible for my Aunt Sharon and Uncle Phillip. Uncle Phillip and his wife have been helping Aunt Sharon take care of my great-grandma for about 3 months now. My Aunt Sharon has been taking care of her mother for my entire life. I have no idea what she's going to do with herself, let alone if she will want to stay in that house. It's been my grandmother's only childhood home. My great-grandfather built it from scratch right after he married my great-grandma in the early years of the depression. Well, I guess I better get things ready to go to my next class. Hope to hear back from the people with information. I need to go see if I can get excused from working Sunday morning this late in the work week. I don't know but I need it. I really need to be with my family as much as possible right now. -Kat- My last night here for you Same old songs, just once more My last night here with you? Maybe yes, maybe no I kind of liked it your way How you shyly placed your eyes on me Oh, did you ever know That I had mine on you?
