so, yeah... i still haven't had the chance to organize my thoughts, but i've really been wanting to put an entry on here for a couple of days, so maybe i'll just start putting down my random thoughts and they'll form themselves into something solid. or maybe i'll just ramble. you never know with me...
well, last year on new year's i did the whole... what's so different about new year's day? ...thing, and after debating with myself, finally decided that New Year's isn't about what you're going to do new, but what you're NOT going to do old. decided that i'd make sure 2005 was worth remembering. and... as i look back... it was. a few main things that i remember...
--the thing w/ jacob and leah (funny: since when was it a thing?)
--the cruise
--having a ton of fun in florida
--camp and dr. rhonda
--choir tour and getting to know jenna
--the snow cone guy at cedar point
--actually liking school
--hating colorguard, yet loving the people
--tapping into my school spirit
--the fall choir concert...
--convention (joe huff is my hero)
--finally smoothing things over with jacob
--and maybe pulling away from leah a bit...
yeah, so those are pretty much the main highlights. there's many more though, and it makes me smile to know i have so many insanely awesome memories. some are bad memories, but i still like to think of them, to remember that i'm human and make mistakes just like everyone else. it was also cool on new year's to think of how 2005 really defined my life, and how different i felt exactly 365 days before. welcoming in 2004, i was pretty down and out. but when '06 hit, the first thing that came out of my mouth was a grin and a "GIVE IT UP FOR GOD!!!!" and i'm really excited to see what this year is going to bring me and my friends. so... this year's resolution is based on some advice from years past that i never thought about enough. the three parts to my new year's resolution are...
1. If it means that much to you, you'll find a way.
2. Make the most of every opportunity.
3. Live your life for God and God alone, and be the person He made you to be.
so yeah, that's what i've got for this year. we'll see before long if i can live by it. that's a bold statement. to live by something. but hey, i guess when you're talking about an entire year of your life, you need to make bold statements like that. well, this entry is definitely long enough. until we meet again.....
