Listening to: The Conquering by All Good Citizens
Feeling: exhausted
So my new job is going well...some interesting things have happened to me the past 2 days while working there. One patient showed me his penis. And another has taught me a lot...even though he can not speak. He's the sweetest man and has the most positive outlook on everything. He's been in the hospital for 3 months b/c a drunk driver hit him as he was walking across the street at 50 mph. He didn't break a single bone in his body but it did cause some brain damage and he now can not speak, has to be on oxygen, and barely has use of his legs and arms. No matter what day of the week or what's gone on in his day...he always has a smile on his face and is glad to come down to PT and spend some time with us down there. He has to be the sweetest man I have ever met. He's taught me a lot...I will NEVER drink and drive no matter what the circumstances and I'm not drinking anymore to get drunk or to "have fun", strictly the ocassional beer and it deff. won't exceed the amount of 1 or 2. This job is already going to be deemed as life changinge. I've learned that no matter how rough or bad life may seem...it can always be worse and even if it is the "worse" make the most of it and be positive. There's no point in being a grump about your situation...you've been put there for a reason. I'm so greatful that this patient has crossed pathes with me. So if you could...pray for him and his recovery b/c he deserves it more than anything in this world. Thanks!
