Listening to: Sarah McLachlan - Song For A Winter's Night
Feeling: normal
So yesterday was...a day. It was a good day, I guess. The school days have been good, the work days haven't been, but yesterday was an all around good day.
In Geology, I talked to Ian and Amanda about the "magic juice" that they are addicted to. It's a concotion of pineapple, orange, and apple juice that mine and Amanda's voice teacher told us about. It's supposed to use for sore throats, but Amanda discovered that the citrus cuts right through allergies. Megan and I talked about The Cosby Show randomly as well.
In Chamber Choir, we got music, finally. I think that version of Shenandoah is going to have to grow on me. I'm slightly apprehensive about All-State auditions in November because I can't hit that high G, but I think it'll get better.
Government was fun. We talked about the USA PATRIOT act, and debated it. I was on the negative side because I have a very strong opinion about privacy invasion. Jessica and Elayna carried the conversation mostly.
Lunch was...lunch. I like sitting with Georgia and Cali.
In Concert Choir, not a lot happened. Just random vocalizing.
In English, we took the Anglo-Saxon test. I don't know how I did on it. I LOVED the dicussion question. "Discuss the development of the English language during and preceding the Anglo-Saxon period." Whee! Something I know about! So, hopefully, I did okay. The true/false SUCKED, though.
After school was work. The only bad thing about it was that I had to go outside TWICE instead of just once. I had to go with kindergarten and first grade with Maralyn, and then with the rest of them with WorkNikki.
Apparently, someone official at the school is being REALLY nasty about us leaving our stuff in the workroom. We stack it neatly daily and the custodians always tell us if we need to fix anything. Because, heaven forbid if we stack a centimeter too close to the sink. Anyway, my understanding was that this woman was really ugly to PS, and she got really upset because she's unstable anyway. PS and I are having the most difficult time adjusting to working with the kids, but it's getting easier for me. I don't see it getting easier for her and I worry she won't last much longer.
I really, really like Jackie. She's a certified art teacher, and amazingly creative. She helped us narrow our stack down and we found a blue wooden shelf-like thing we can use to store loose games and toys. If they get nasty about this one...well, they'll just have to get over it. Because we're trying and we're not going to be there much longer since our new building is almost done.
After work, I ate dinner at Taco Bell, and then went to Barnes and Noble with Joy, where we talked. About lots of things.
And then I went to Jody and Melanie's, and we watched What Not To Wear, and then we all went to sleep. And that was yesterday.
