So I just watched Kelly Clarkson perform A Moment Like This on my WinAmp player. It was funny.
Anyway, today is Lauren & Bert's wedding. That's quite a statement.
I met Lauren on the World Changers Tampa trip back in 2001. She was a last minute chaperone, as she turned 21 just before the trip. I think I might've started the trip in Joy's van, I really don't know. But anyway, I ended up on the bus on the second travel day, sitting on the floor next to the driver's seat talking to Jody. Next thing I know, Lauren and I found some common ground about something and started chatting it up and talked the whole way to Tampa. Since then, she has become an invaluable friend and a mentor for my college experience.
Enter Bert. Not this past Christmas, but last Christmas (laaaaaast Christmas--ok, I'll shut up now), we did a musical at church and started having Bert do our sound. At one of the practices, Lauren and Bert got all chatty in the balcony and soon went on their first date. Blah blah blah yadda yadda bing bing, and here we are, quite some time later, at the wedding day.
I am singing with this really nice lady named Angel. Apparently, we sound really good together. Yay! I like blending with people (like Emily and AF).
On to other exciting news. I am turning 18 on Thursday. I can't wait to get cards and money.
School is going well--I've got to get my butt in gear on my portfolios in World Geography (most of which I can do in class) and Teacher Cadet (which I'll have to do here at home). We start our field work in Teacher Cadet soon. PSDM is going nicely, even though it is a little frustrating. We'll see. Economics is still going surprisingly well, too.
I got my cap and gown proofs. One is okay, the other is HORRIBLE. But that's okay. Life goes on.
So: Wedding, birthday, NATS, chorus concert, All-State, state festival, Spring Break, Easter, Orlando, prom, graduation.
Yikes.
