Here's what happened...
I woke up at 6am on Thursday, got ready, and then went to pick up Nikki and Georgia to go to Carowinds. I had Nikki, and I was turning onto to Cedar Rd., which leads to a road where I can turn to pick up Georgia. I had just moved into a turn lane, and the light was green. There's a dip in the road, and Nikki and I both thought the road was clear, so I turned, and then this maroon van came out of nowhere and hit us in the middle of the turn.
Thankfully, it was behind the passenger door and it wasn't REALLY hard, just hard enough to make the ugly crunching metal sound. The truck still ran, so I was able to move to the side of Cedar Rd. so I wasn't blocking traffic. Nikki and I were both okay...I actually didn't move, but she kind of bounced.
We got out of the car, and miraculously, it was a really nice man who hit us. His daughter was crying pretty hard. She was a short, tiny little rising freshman at my school on her way to band camp. (Hmm...I guess I'll have to ask Melissa if she told her about the wreck.)
The cops came, we gave our sides of the story and all that mess, it was ruled my fault (it totally was--failure to yield), and my court date is September 11 at 2pm.
Bleh. It could've been a lot worse, but there still a big ugly dent in the side of my dad's truck.
have a nice day and take care :)
