Weathered Chapter 4.

Feeling: ill

The pounding in his head lessened and he opened his eyes. He found himself still lying on the floor and his body was burning. His body still ached and he sat up. He let his eyes finally focus and he forced himself onto his knees. When he looked at his clock, he saw that it was after two in the morning. He let out a sigh and collapsed back onto his bed.

A cold chill ran down his spine and he pulled the covers up over his body. Then he took a deep breath and pulled his legs up to his chest. He heard footsteps downstairs in the kitchen and his eyes fell closed with his body slipping back into a sleep.

Stupid laughter filled the hall and she shook her head. She looked down the hall and saw Zack heading her way with his posse behind him. Then she turned her head back to the inside of her locker. His hand ran down her arm and he kissed her cheek.

She stifled a growl and said, "Get out of my way, Telk."

He laughed with his boys and asked, "Did you hear that boys? She wants us out of her way, even though we aren't in it."

They started to laugh harder and she shrugged them off. Then she closed her locker and walked down the hall. She pulled her jacket tighter around her and headed to the end of the hall. As she walked up to the cafeteria doors, she saw Terry going the opposite way. She stifled a hello and watched him disappear into the crowd of hunger led students.

Then she stepped into the cafeteria and stepped into the lunch line. As she filled her tray, someone tapped her shoulder and she turned around. Mags stood in front of her and she looked upset.

She grabbed an apple and asked, "What's up?"

Mags filled her tray and said, "It's Ter. He looks awful today and last night, he didn't call me."

Her eyebrow went up and she asked, "You two a couple?"

The girl laughed and said, "No, just good friends. We always call each other just before we crash every night. He didn't last night and today he hasn't said a word about it. Something's up."

She paid the cashier and asked, "And what does this have to do with me?"

Mags shrugged and said, "I was hoping you'd get him to talk about it."

She sighed and said, "I don't even know him. He doesn't know me, so it would be pointless."

The girl smirked and said, "You two might not know each other, but you notice each other. I saw it when you two met."

She turned her back to the crazy woman and walked over to her group's table. She watched Mags join some kids further down and then she sat down. Her friends smiled and she smiled back. The topic was a different one and she looked around the lunch room. In the far corner she found Terry drinking something while looking straight at her.

She took a deep breath and studied his wild hair of black and his rich brown skin. His eyes were dark brown and her eyes noticed that they lacked a flicker of life. Then Jack sat at the opposite side of her table and she rolled her eyes. He looked at Terry and nodded to the boys. They all nodded and laughed before starting to eat their lunches.

'What's so funny?'

She looked back at the corner and found Terry walking out of the cafeteria. She watched the doors close after him and she let out a deep breath.

'What makes him so different? What is Terry all about?'
