Ωκεανό Tale Chapter 57

Feeling: inpain
Feeling the mist from the ocean, she looked across the blue waves and smiled. Everywhere she looked was the place she grew up. She felt his gaze when it settled on her and glanced over her shoulder. He was watching her from across the deck and she smirked. A warm breeze slid over her skin and she heard distant calls. Looking toward the west, she saw the dorsal fins and watched the dolphins leap into view. They were racing after the ship and she could hear their excitement. Niall came up along side and she smiled as he gave out a cry. He jumped higher and she watched him try to reach her. "Don't lean over." She looked to her side and found the man watching the mammals. Niall disappeared beneath the surface and she turned to face the man. "He was just having fun." His eyes rested on her and he said "He won't have any fun with you today." "And may I ask why is that?" He smirked and said "I'll show you later." She smiled and looked over his shoulder. An island looked back at her and she glanced back at her company. His eyes had settled on the place and she ran her hand along his arm. "Are you sure you want me to come?" He caught her hand and pulled her in front of him. "It's not just their memorial." She smirked and leaned her head back against his shoulder. His arm slid around her waist and took a deep breath. The ship slowed as it ran aground and he watched the crew lower the ramp on the port side. "Come on." She followed him across the deck and down the ramp. They stepped onto warm sand and he glanced back at the crew. They knew they weren't allowed on this piece of land and busied themselves with basic chores. Silently he guided her into a small forest and she couldn't hear a sound of life. They stopped in the middle of the island and she found burial monuments. Her hand tightened on his and he looked down at her. "When they were found, we had them brought here and buried." His voice didn't waver but she could still feel his pain. She intertwined their hands and he took a deep breath. "Only Oric and Leon are allowed on this island. You are the fourth person." "Anyone else?" "Your father." She closed her eyes and said "Everyone that was there that night." He nodded and said "I want to put a memorial for your mother here." Taking a deep breath, she looked up at him and said "There is no reason for you to put this on your shoulders." "Your mother gave me ten more years. She gave me the chance to meet you again." She smirked and ran her hand over his jaw. Her arms wrapped around his neck and she leaned her head on his shoulder. "You carry enough weight on your shoulders. Let me carry this one." "Eve." She looked up at him and said "Jonathan, I want you to promise me you will let me handle this. He smirked and captured her mouth. The power sizzled through them and she ran her fingers through his hair. Slowly he pulled back and took a deep breath. She lowered her arms and stepped away. He watched her start back for the beach and silently followed. She waited for him on the beach and they approached the waiting ramp. The crew stood waiting for orders when they boarded and he nodded to the captain. The ramp was brought aboard and the ship was pushed back to sea. She took a seat at the bow and watched him speak with the captain. Leaning back against the sturdy wood, she closed her eyes and listened to the waves. Silently the man came to sit next to her and heard the crew starting their normal sea activities. "Think they could be quiet for once?" He smirked and said "Not part of being a sailor." She sighed and looked up at him. He was watching the horizon as they moved through the blue sea and she looked up at the sky. "We have two days until we return." "We're going back faster." He nodded and said "They won't wait to see you forever." She smirked and heard gulls overhead. Glancing back at the fading island, she remembered how dead the place felt and a chill ran up her spine. "Cold?" She shook her head and said "I'm going to head down for the night." He watched her head across the deck and disappear beneath. Smirking, he looked out back on the ocean and rested his eyes. "Dad!" Isaac looked up from his book and smiled. He ran to his father and the man picked him up. "Where's your sister?" He rolled his eyes and said "She couldn't keep up." Isaac laughed and said "You know what your mother will say." The man put him down and he frowned. Isaac closed his book and chuckled. "You better go get Helen before your mother finds out." He sighed and ran out of the room. Pulling open the door, he stepped outside and heard laughter. Walking down the steps, he stopped in the middle of the courtyard and heard barking. He walked to the beach and found Tanner chasing Kara and Trevor. They ran down the coast line and he spotted the woman sitting on a blanket. She was watching them play as he approached and smiled when he took a seat next to her. "They're lasting longer today." "I wore Tanner out earlier. They have it easier this time." He chuckled and looked down at her. Her blue eyes sparked with the sunlight and he brushed his lips over hers. She wrapped her arms around his neck and he slid his hand through her hair. A hand rested on his shoulder and he opened his eyes. The sun was gone and he met her blue gaze. She was hidden in the dark but he could feel the warmth in her touch. "You've been asleep since sun down." He smirked and said "I suppose you were sent up here to bring me in for the night." She smiled and said "If you want to see it that way." She took a seat next to him and looked up at the night sky. He wrapped an arm around her waist and she leaned her head against his shoulder. "I was thinking maybe we stay out here tonight and let them have the cabin for their antics." He couldn't hold back the chuckle and he pulled her onto his lap. She sat between his legs and rested her back against his chest. His hand slid through her soft hair and she listened to his heart beat. "You'll freeze up here." She smiled and said "I've got you to worry about that." He kissed her temple and took a deep breath. She closed her eyes and felt his arm tighten around her. "As much as quietness sounds good, we should head downstairs." She sighed and he pushed her onto her feet. Holding her hand down, she pulled him up and he walked to the cabin stairs. She followed him down into the loud bowel and he pulled her into their cabin. Shutting the door, he watched her approach the window and look out at the moonlit sky. "Explain to me why we're down here." He smirked and crossed the room. Catching her shoulder, he turned her to face him and looked into her eyes. The intensity in his brown gaze sparked a hunger in her and she pulled him down to her. An arm pinned her against him and she slid her fingers through his hair. He pulled back and looked down into her burning eyes. She smiled and ran her mouth along his neck. She brushed his ear and he brought her back to him. His mouth captured hers with a storm of passion and she felt him pick her up. He lowered her onto the bed and she met his hungry gaze. He held her gaze and she said "You even think about it and I'll kill you." A smile captured his face and he kissed her again. She wrapped her arms around his neck and slid her fingers through his hair. She could feel her blood pounding and felt the rapid heartbeat in his chest. His mouth slid along her neck and she surrendered to the growing storm inside.
